  • I'm kinda partial to the MSX-PC88.

The predominance of the color blue in most screens creates a very mysterious atmosphere, which is not present in the other versions due to the other colors thrown in the mix.

  • I wonder why Catherine's outfit is only different in Sega CD

  • Maggot infested skull FTW!

  • Also,The pc-8801 version was superior to the msx version.Msx version had shit load times and the music quality was worse.

  • @Johnnybomb1 - I fully agree

  • @koplocolola Not know about you but me that the version of PC-ENGINE is the best of all, unfortunately the Japanese language is so perfect in this game is very difficult to understand this game and although the English version is very good in acting voice does not compare with that of PC-ENGINE because it does not have any kind of censorship especially the erotic scenes but hey greetings from Mexico.

  • The pc-8801 and pc engine versions were the best imo.The music from the pc engine kinda sucked though.

  • @Johnnybomb1 - I still think the Sega/Mega CD version is the best due to all of the little additions like the extra scenes in the intro as well as the expanded ending plus all the little graphical changes (i.e. - nice closeup of Gillian's apt., etc.). I still love the PC-E version as well as it still had some awesome tracks not included in the Sega?Mega CD version (redbook audio I mean)....

  • Haven't played this yet but really want to.

    MSX looks best to me.

Probably pick up the Mega CD version though as I already have the system.

Is it the only English version of the game?

  • @rollingchamp Yeah, only the Sega CD version was released in North America.

  • In my opinion the PS1 version wasn't as bad as people say.

I like the backgrounds, what with it's washed out and dark colors.

It makes the areas seem slightly more creepy.

  • Wow. The rotting face of Benson is pretty damn creepy (although cartoonish) on the MSX version. Saturn looks pretty cool too I suppose.

  • I say msx and pc engine are the best, well since they aren't censoring, or at least than the other ones.

  • I like the original pc-88/msx version. The later versions were not redrawn to look like the original and the colors are too saturated.

However Isabella was improved and some colors in a few scenes were changed for the better like Jean's corpse scene.

  • i do like the music on the segacd version

  • PC-engine and Sega-CD look the best, in which one was the sound better? I really want to have THE best version and for me it is one of these two.

  • @BFG8000 Sega CD seems to be generally regarded as the best. However, or near-mint it is valued at £100-£150, and with a crack in the case and/or disc scratches that takes £15-25 off.

However, you can always resell it, so it won't end up costing you that much.

  • I always toughed all versions was just ports with respectives color engine differences, but now im amazed about how they redrawed all the pictures every time!!

  • MSX looked the best for me. All the colours look natural like they are supposted to.

  • @wrestletube1 I don't mean to insult your opinion, but the MSX version looks too...blue to look natural

  • Amazing how the PSX version was technically the best, yet at the same time looked the worst.

  • I wish I could find the PC-88 version

  • the psx/saturn version sure is unattractive.

  • And now for a SNATCHER "You probably didn't Notice this" Fact: "Alton" backwards is "Not LA".

  • Nice video. Hey, I'm trying to emulate Sega CD's Snatcher in Gens32 surreal v 1.76 and... it doesn't let me save using metal gear. When I try, an error message flashes in and... the emulator crashes. Can someone help me with that? Thanks!

  • just use save states. or, use kega fusion.

  • Thanks, but by now I had already received advice of what to do. Now I'm using another gens emulator that is meant to work under kega fusion or something like that and it works :)

  • @Astos88 Yeah, and a cutscene goes on forever for me, so i've got a bad ISO. I'll just wait until i can get a real copy of the game and a real Sega CD, i've already got a genesis that i only have like one game for.

  • SegaCD is the best version ;)

  • Thank you for this, Liquid. I love seeing anything about this wonderful game.
