I love this island... I really do, but now, every time I get on the ferry to visit, I'm always remembering this unsolved murder. Gives me chills. I love a good mystery, so when I read the book, I'm convinced more than ever that it was an "inside" killing within her job... that is truly chilling!
I grew up with Davina in High School etc... I never knew this happened to her. God bless her family. When you lose touch with people you never know what might have happened to them. RIP Davina.
I made friends with Mr. Buff at the kangaroo mart at Oak Island. I think alot of him and all of the "morning coffee club" that meets every morning. He gave me a copy of the book. My wife and I can't put it down. NO doubt, someone got paid off on this one. I dispatch for the police and have a heart for officers and what they go through. It is unpardonable the way government can turn on their own. I stand with Mr. Buff and the family that this coverup will be made clear. God Bless this family.

I have recently finished the book Out with Three and Ten years later I still find myself sick to my stomach to think that this "ruling" has not been changed. I think some of the people involved are guilty as sin!!!!!! Why else would they not reopen the case?
My father knew her, he graduated with her at basic law enforcement training (his graduation photo has a picture of her in it), and I remember him telling me about this... way back in the day. I was much younger. I do remember him saying that it was unthinkable to him that she would commit suicide, also that she had dogs she loved dearly (this is all very smoky memories, bare with me) and she wouldn't leave them. I'm sorry for your loss, and it's good to know this story didn't dissapear.
I think that DA Rex Gore is afraid to reopen the case due to he might end up in federal prison with Ex-Sheriff Ron Hewett for obstruction of justice...
Its hard to believe that next week will be the 9 year mark. I will always believe that she was murdered. Rex Gore is a idoit.. Old family money and name is what keeps him in office. He says suicide. But if thats the case, a couple of simple questions are. Why was she neg. on the GSR test.. Why did they place a gag order put into the island workers and told if they talked about the case they would be fired.. To be a suicide, there sure is alot of cover up.. To many unanswered questions. REOPEN..

What the people in charge of Bald Head Island put you through is sickening... and my hearts go out to you. I left flowers at the site when I was down in August, and just as it was foretold, they were gone by morning. But I think you need to realize as well that most people on BHI are outraged by this... it's just we don't really have a voice.

You met my sister. Please pass the book on to anyone you think may gain something from it. The family doesn't want anyone to ever have to go through what we have. We will not rest until this has been solved or her death has been changed from suicide. Bless you for reading it and responding to us.
This is a great video about Davina. I was living in Southport when this took place. I have always felt that she was murdered. I believe she was at the wrong place at the wrong time. The people of BHI have their noses so far in the air it stinks. They would rather have their little rich island, instead of caring about someone who was murdered while protecting them. I continue to pray for the family and hope that someday justice is served.. RIP Davina.

I do not believe Davina killed herself. I know her mom, her dad and I am great friends with their oldest daughter. I cry everytime I hear about injustices. If you need my help Loy and Harriet. I grew up on Bald Head and rember Davina. I have always belive that she was murdered. I rember her playing card games with me has I rode the ferry.
I still think of her when I play cards on the Ferry.

the tape shows a murder Rex is calling it a suicide maybe Rex did it! i find it very doubtful the police officer would kill herself
