We were there and it was a blast! Most of the dogs ran back out to get on their boards to have another go around. The surf was particularly heavy that day, a bit rougher than the dogs have trained in... so I think what your seeing is just their 'focus' LOL!

I dont' think they're enjoying it as much as their human counterparts.Most of them look too scared to move and can't wait to get off. Still amusing. I wouldn't do it with my dog for safety reasons.

This is very safe and the dogs really do enjoy the sport once they figure out how to surf. The event organizers go above and beyond to ensure the dogs are safe and not put into harms way. Extra lifeguards or dog guards are on duty for the event and no dog is allowed to surf without a life jacket.
