@freekw4 And they also use special 9mm Glocks that are a mix of the real thing and an paintball gun. Anyway. Airsoft offers a cheap and effective alternative to the laser sensor and pointer gear they used to use. Naturally they train with them as well, but at around 30k a set per soldier + maintenance and wear from the elements. It's just cheaper to shoot bb's.

Here's the difference: M14/M1A is a semi/full automatic battle/assault rifle, detachable magazine and select fire. M1 Garand has an 8 round internal magazine and is semi automatic. but thats besides the point, what brand is that?

@philippedeutsch acually the M14 is quite different from the M1. this may take two posts but durring production of weapons after ww2 ppl started to change up alot of the weapons from ww2 most famouse for that being the M1. now in order to make its varients more powerful (didn't end up working) they took the body of an M1 and reshaped it. if you notice the M14 is fed by a mag underneath the body while the M1 work like a ww2 style bolt action you feed it through the top.

M14 had a 7.62 whille the M1 had a slightly smaller round 30-06. now don't get me wrong but even though the M14 has a larger round it is still less powerfull and accurate then the M1 because the maximum pressure you can fire the 30-06 is 60K psi while the 7.62 is only 52K psi, so theres a big difference between the 2

@RedOmnibus if that was an M1 there would not be that slant so close to the trigger. that slant is right underneath the bolt which means the ammunition will be fed up into the chamber from there. where as the slant on the M1 is aropund 6 or more inches away from the trigger because the ammunition is fed from the top not the bottom. and its garand not grand.
