The Sinhala lanugage is really melodious. I am a Kannadiga from India. Even though I do not know sinhala the lanugage sounds to me similar to mix of Kannada, Tulu and Konkani lanugages of Inida. "Aadare" word sounds similar to Kannada Aadare. Can any one let me know the meaning of this workd in Sinhala? In kannada Aadare means "But" or "Otherwise".

This is the first time I have heard Sinhala.
