  • Raphael still pawns this guy :D

  • Somehow the music makes this video dashingly classy.

  • These are made out of aluminum. You can't spin the real ones around your finger.

  • @SidSirGalahad Mine are made of chrome, and I can spin them around one finger. It takes a few months of additional practice, but it is possible

  • bet you anything that he plays ninja turtles in his backyard with those lol jk hes good

  • what are those sai made out of? they dont look like metal

  • @stephenblackart2209 Chrome generally. I'm sure some are made of other things, but most of them are made of chrome. Mine are.

  • ninchucks are better runs *

  • Slick

  • The sais were not generally supposed to be sharp. They had to be thick enough to turn away a Katana and Small enough to conceal in a sleeve or under a shirt.

  • Turn away a katana? Not really an issue back in old times.

  • My bro sleeps with Sais under his pillow. He's paranoid. lol

  • It's not good to have a weapon in the same room that you sleep in. It's terrible for your mental health. Tell your brother this.

  • Except for the time when you wake up-need it--and it is not there. That's bad for your physical health.

  • my room is filled with swords and weapons :p , so you're basically saying that i'm nuts. lol

  • @Sarthex

DO YOU A LICENCE TO HOLD WEAPONS IN YOUR ROOM

  • oh my god i have 5 katana some sai two machete nunchucks a bowie a kabar usmac fight nife and two ninjato im screwed and thats just my room not to mention the rest if the house im gonna be so mentaly messsd up

  • kick ass i have a machete under mine

  • I adore this guy

Is song Prodigy - Firestarter but some remix? :)

  • how much did those SAIS cost

  • his style probably is karate (most likely freestyle karate)!

the sai is an okinawan weapon, created as an answer of the katana banning in that time!

    PEACE

  • is he a ninja? a karateka or a tkd jin...

  • He kinda looks like Tony Hawk...

  • @JerryCurl10

    Rapheal meats tony hawk!!!

  • What style is this?

  • they look plastic

  • Omg insane you are retarted, they are not plastic but wooden obviously, the are most commonly made of steel and wood he was just using practice sai is all.

  • Actually I think they're aluminum.

  • they certainly didn't sound like metal when he struck them together at the start??

  • they´re wodden, i think, by the way, i think he´s awesom... AND I WANT SAIS!

  • As hempev mentioned, as they were used by police, the main advantage of sai, or Jutte, the japanese single Yoku/hook version, the ease of controlling/subduing an opponent with the Sai is unsurpassed. Just hook the opponent's wrist and circle your hand either way to take them down or immobilize them. I highly advice you to check out hempev's videoclips of the Sai, that's how I started.

    Strength and Honor,

    Vikverjar.

  • sais are a gr8 weapon and one of my Favourite i think that not many people take notice of them because when it comes to that kind of thing they just want to have somthing sharp like a sword.

  • Can't those hooks on the side also be used to catch and break weapons?

  • that is exactly what they are intended for. The sai worked more as a defensive measure.

  • From seeing what some of my friends think (mostly due to movies like Elektra), they think that sai -are- sharp. Still, the weapon can penetrate some types of armor, like wood (in context to the Japanese culture). Striking the neck, then thrusting forward, using the yoku/prong against the throat should still cause a severe injury or death. And if you miss, the guy's neck's gotta hurt like hell.

  • Yeah only the tips were sharpened if I spelled that right. =D

  • the tips aren't sharp. Nothing on a sai is sharp, but they are still very powerful weapons.

  • hey, what kind of sais are they? is there any shop to buy these ones? looks lik some light extreme competition ones...

  • This guy obviously has a lot of skill - but running the techno in the background made it hard to take seriously... and I love electronica.

    my $.02

  • Thats a chicks weapon, I perfer sword of staff.

  • The Sai happens to counter both of those weapons.

  • and a staff isent a chicks weapon? woww.... sais are not chick weapons

  • These sais are "easyweight"...metal ones are just so heavy, gonna take me some time to get used to it :)

  • Daggers can't block long blades...or really anything

  • Hey, you're pretty good.:)

  • your great... im just starting to learn how to use sai

  • thats my favorie martial arts weapon. it was the second weapon I learned, shortly after I learned the bo staff.

  • your made out of bone

  • looks good !!

  • my man you are good,,,,,, I like it very much the forf you make, keep going man.......

  • MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!!

  • smooth.....nice one

  • nice sai, what are they made from?

  • i think they are training sai, plastic maybe

  • nice sai

  • Nice music... reminds me of laser tag.

  • You're sexy on sais

  • Is it possible to to spin sai without cutting yourself with a real one?

  • sai wont cut you,, they are stabbing weapons... but u can still cause yourself harm if you mess up...

  • sai dont actually have as blade. they are blufgening and peirceing wepons. not slashing. they where used by police forces to disabel and disarm opponents without leathal force.

  • Sweet looking sais!

  • is this the same guy from the bo video?!?

how many weapons does he know? good job, man - keep 'em coming

  • RAPHAEL! teenage mutant ninja.....

i like mikey though still cool

  • freakin' sweet!

  • This guy is nice on sais but i think they are wooden. Ur lucky i want wooden sais cause my metal ones are to heavy for practice.

  • Sai were historically made of steel, a rare commodity in Okinawa, so only high-ranking peace officers had them (acted as their badge of rank). I had light aluminum ones until recently. The Shureido version, which are heavier steel but also better balanced, are a joy to "hirachi" (flip the grip), and, despite the greater weight, I don't drop them very often now!

  • sais were made for measuring and planting rice.

  • there isnt actually much evidence to support that. its a common beliefe but historians are starting to question that.

  • The common people were not allowed to have weapons, so they made weapons that had a practical use, the Kama(for harvesting grain and such) the Sai(see above) and the Bo which was a walking stick or bucket carrier

  • Actually, sai is the only instrument that *started* as a weapon to begin with - they were used by high-ranking officers in what we would call the police. The rest of the force usually used bo, since metal was not mined on the islands and anything made from it was rather expensive. A farmer of that era probably paid a lot for his kama!

  • lol, think about the bo for a sec... the bucket wouldnt stay where u wanted it to, it would slide back down and hit ur back...
