What does my political affiliation have to do with whether or not I enjoy a show? In fact The Wire, perhaps accidently showcased the serious issues that arrise when democrats are intrenched in office in cities like b-more. Welfare deminishes work ethic, productivity, and business is strangled to the point where it leaves, the leftist handling of schools has lead them to failure and the weak stance on crime has doomed the city.

the show is extremely liberal. its disparaging capitalism and the rights handling of the schools "no child left behind". all the show's creators are leftists or independents. the show is meant for you to view the american ghetto in a new way, showing that its not so simple for people to just "pick themselves up by their bootstraps" and escape poverty. generally a right wing talking point. that's why conservatives tend to hate the show as it seems to be making excuses for the plight of poor ppl.

Ed Burns is anything but a leftist, and while amny people on the show may be,I didn't pick up on a big leftist slant to the show which is saying a lot fr an HBO show.That said I did pick up on the view of capitalism and other things you have mentioned in this post,which is why i said that the show"accidently" showcases the errors of a leftist democrat gov't and its failure to "change" anything because it is a broken system.One can not pick one's self from their bootstraps if gov't is in the way.
