Dr. Kemp, do you have a website that I can go to in order to purchase you playing organ acapella? I would love to use to incorporate you playing acapella into my bass and drum practice. Thank you sir, and GOD Bless you.
Thank you. I only have what you see on youtube. Please make use of whatever you can to the Glory of the Lord!! May God Bless your work in His ministry of music.
I truly feel this minister to me...Gospel music in general today has been so performance like instead of true worship,This is what im talking about sir, u better play them songs of Zion.
omg.. you play soo awesome...My dad was the musician at our church and he died so im taking his place.. its really hard ... ive only been playing for a few months..I wish i could get where you are...
Practice 3 hours every day and play for church service each Sunday. Then what will happen is that on a Sunday night the anointing of the Lord will over take you and you will play like never before. It is the anointing that moves through the music and makes the difference not sound. The sound is your own musical voice placed within you by the Holy Spirit. That sound grows as you develop your knowledge and skill in operating the B3. You will be blessed as you humble yourself before the Lord.
Man I love this....... great pedal phrasing and articulation, something a lot of us young guys don't do, but something im def starting to learn from u masters
Yes I can play in every key on the keyboard. When you are a professional organist it is something you must learn to do. It begins with learning a song in the key it was recorded in and then learning to play it in a different key if necessary for whoever is going to lead it for the choir. Thanks much!!!!
o ok cool i understand what u r sayin like when n C# and u have a Fminor chord comin up so wit the same song u play it in D u would play a F# minor chord i mean im only 19 and i can only play in 4 keyz which r C#/Db Eb/D# F#/Gb & Ab/G# and i can play a lil bit in C but i wanna learn all my keyz i mean when i see alot of musicians such as urself on here its makes me feel encouraged but also makes me wonder will i ever get 2 your levels but i kno 1 day i'll be playin in all 12 keys
Yes - I checked you out!! You have a good hear and that is what you need to get to where you wish to go in music. I use to practice for 3 hours each time I sat down to learn a new song including praying and singing to myself. So for you - noting can replace the time on the keyboard. Learn something - play it 300 times - and learn to play it in different keys too - learn something else - play it 300 times and on and on and pray and live the life of holiness and the Spirit will do the rest.
woooow u sound like my uncle lol but i know its 4 a good cause...i just gotta get out of usin transpose its like i let transpose be the background 4 ever song thats in a key idk and i know thats not good...but imma start puttin hours in on the keyboard/organ because i know it dont come over night i mean lets face it if it did i would'nt be in the predicament that im in now, now would i lol...so how long uj been playin
Thank you so much. I don't have CD's at this time but you can download VEOH and make CDs and DVD's of videos from youtube on your computer as desired. I may put together a DVD in the future. Thank you for the thoughtfulness and kind words of encouragement!!!
i love it. i am going to learn how to play the hammond. my church has a portable hammond x-b2 that we got back in '94. i mainly play the drums been playing off and on for a while. is there any way to learn to play the hammond by ear in a couple of months. i only know 3 chords. took piano lessons off and on also. we dont have a organist and i want to start playing. are there any web sites that you know about that could show me some tips on the hammond. cant afford lessons right now. lol
Get a cheap piano and learn to play that first. Use youtube videos and learn to play old songs - hymns, congregational songs etc. Practice 3 hours each day and learn a song every three days. Your skills will begin to show at church. Ask your pastor to help you invest in music lessions and show him that you are serious. I began as a church drummer from 6 to 12 and then began playing organ for the choir at 12. I spent 6 years teaching myself to play the piano. Learn both instruments.
I am so grateful to the Holy Spirit for the gift he has instilled in me. I don't take it for granted but respect it and thank God for the opportunity to serve Him through service to His people via musical and word ministry.
Girl - you are tooooo much!!! Thanks so much for the comments. You made my day. I love your playing and singing - your beautiful tight cord structure which bridges jazz and contemporary gospel is ahead of its time. I know that organists are working to emulate the TT style - because it's fresh and different. Please continue to make videos - we are enjoying whatever you do!! You are a blessing to the body of Christ and to Gospel Organists. Dr. Kemp
I am too honored for my name to be mentioned in this clip...LOL! This is a true blessing and a lot of people don't play like this anymore! This is what I was brought up on! LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!
U betta play it now!
