    you are correct-no more splinting. The surgery which I had yesterday in fact didnt even have an arm block, just a locel anesthetic in my hand. Bandages come off on Saturday andI am to wear a bandaid over the wound.

    I never felt any pressure or pain at all-7 minutes to cut, 8 minutes to close--

    I went in at 630 was homeby 900am

  • just a few comments. as of 2009, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons no longer recommends splinting as well as tendon synovectomy.  for details on the reasons why these practices are now being discouraged, please check out the AAOS evidence-based guidelines for carpal tunnel syndrome treatment by googling AAOS Clinical Practice Guidelines, and click on the Guidelines for Treatment of CTS.

  • Is good to know that if you are awake during the surgery you will only feel pressure and not real pain. At Symposier site physicians can find related videos to broken wrist repairs.
