  • I wish the last part of this video had been available back in the 70's when I was dropping acid routinely.

  • Ok, this video would have had a wide acceptance in the Psychodelic Era of the 60s! What is the thickness of the Stainless?

  • that thing is awesome! do you know the name of the steel? standard alloys have a number. the music is really awesome!

  • vomit!!!!!!!!!!!!! motion sickness lol jk

  • Hello Dan....I been a follower of yours for quite some time....the video you previously broad cast using the Acrylic panel I was going to modify using 8N finished stainless steel sheeting. The cost of the stainless is rather expensive, but with my calculations .....I should be able to collect approximately 9,000 BTU from a 4 x 8 sheet using a parabolic curve with a 34 inch focal point. I would be very interested in where and how much it cost for your mirror coated material

  • These steel mirrors would be useful for us astronomers! Because of the strong reflective surface it can be great for astronomy.

  • Dan, when are you going to take all your "Know How" and use it to build something big? Every video is a cool, but I was hoping that you would have some kind of 10KW home built Solar Array by now.

  • You should send some to mysteryguitarman, I know what he would do with them ^_^

  • Maybe when the postal service retires it's fleet of all-aluminum trucks they can be made into mirrors.

  • COOL ! Nice metal mirror. I like your stand too. It reminds me of the small gyms mirror from my old high school. It was made from some un-breakable material. We found out later that it was simply polished stainless steel. Is yours magnet attactive ? Could be stainless - there's a lot of different alloys of stainless out there.

  • Is that Anodized aluminum?

  • Ha ha ha:) Yes I enjoyed that very much thank you !!

  • It's like jumping into the first painting of Super Mario 64!

  • The only problem I have with the reflectivity comparison is that the acrylic mirrors have been out in the WEATHER for some time and the metal mirror is fresh and clean.

  • Acrylic has a bad tendency to splinter. I am not sure if splinter is the correct word but it separates into different layers when heated and cooled. It also bubbles and separates under the same conditions. There was a car built here in Canada called a Bricklin SV-1 that had acrylic body parts and they suffered from this same form of separation when under heating and cooling.

  • HOLD THE FREAKIN CAMERA STILL !!!!!

  • I'm so sick now, I'm so sick now, I'm so sick now, Who could ask for anything more?

    Sheet music, LOL!

  • oooohhhhh the sky is falling lol

  • "I thought you might enjoy that" - Sure... if by "enjoy" you mean get nauseous, then yeah... I enjoyed that quite a bit. ;)

  • what are the mirrors used for? im new to this channel and this is the first video iv ever saw. your channel auto sub'd when i sub'd NURDRAGE

  • @steadfast1984 they are used to creat steam and what is tis chanil about read the name

  • @steadfast1984 Hi,

    watch?v=pLQ4EtWVDdM

Welcome to our channel, NURDRAGE is fantastic. The above video should explain it.

  • The music is kind of scary >_>

  • Out of curiosity, do your mirrors get hot on the backside when doing things like this ?

  • this is a great material, the flexibility of steel and the reflectiveness of a mirror

  • Wow its like ambient lifeforms , the future sound of london LP. : )

  • Its like........looking into a mirror or something.

  • Nauseating camera work on this one, Dan. Maybe it's time for a gimble.

  • Sounds like a TOOL soundtrack.

  • Comment removed

  • @judoyodan Yup, Tool or Rolf Harris on Acid.

  • the end was cool.

  • Run a violin bow across the edge. I bet you could get some amazing sounds that way. If your going to play music on it anyway, why not make it peasant. :)

  • The metal has a much better refection :) I am eager to see you cook food and heat water with it, as well as replace mirrors (such as normal bathroom mirrors) for amazing reflections :)

  • WOW!!! what a difference, Cool material thanks for sharing...LATER

  • whoa. that's fuckin trippy man.

  • Enjoyed the end bit very much, thanks. :D

  • Cool I see a steam engine in your future

  • @btigtime2 The company I worked for made a solar steam engine (working prototype) in 1982.

  • @oldwarhorse1865 why is it not on every roof now?

  • @btigtime2 Ronnie Reagan wanted aircraft carriers.

  • Nice

  • When the metal was still in a parabolic i was hearing Dan's voice bouncing off it back into the mic. Before I realized that... i thought his voice was cracking or he was getting strangely excited about this material at seemingly random times! (Didn't realize till 1:20 "it holds up okay" LOL )

  • Love their yard

  • I'm pretty sure that's what Steven king imagined as a "thinny"

  • SOOOOOOOO glad I listened to Nancy Reagan!!!! LMAO!!!!

  • Aah! lovet the last bit, sounded like it went "Waaat? Wowowo, Waaat?"

  • Awesome, I hope to see more of it in action and a comparison between the metal and acrylic. It looks like you could weather seal the wooden stand if it's not sealed already.

  • sound effect for movies

  • lol, that was some amazing music lol, didnt exspect that

  • is it stainless?

  • @saturateu THIS, is it stainless?

  • Wil the surface tarnish over time, and if so what is recomended for bringing back to health?

  • Hey, what about rust? If it's steel, chances are, that's gonna happen eventually.

  • That is a rather interesting sound.

  • dan! you are soooo coool, love the green science, but I especially love the vids of sterling engines. Any chance your working on more vids of that?

  • I look forward to learning more about this. I am on the sea coast, and so salt air corrosion is ALWAYS an issue with any kind of steel. I suppose this could be coated with an acrylic or something.
