In case you guys are interested I have been able to get good playing videos to work on this phone (you have to a have a mem card for anything over about 5 mb which is like 1 minute to fit) I have several beavies and buthead epoisodes and a 45 minute porn vid lol!! Just make sure it's in 176 x 144 or smaller, and make the framerate 12 to 15 per second and has to be .3gp ir .mp4 bitrates and sound work pretty good no matter what.

The email sucks but the keyboard is decent. Compared to a Blackberry it's terrible but the size of the keys is nice. It is slow though compared to the Pearl with typing so if you're a fast texter you'll miss out on words.

smart key on the right side goes from t9 and a capitol A. that is how you want it to not predict, but the predictive text is really good on this phone. It shows a list of words you may want to use under your text message. I had it for 15 months and lost it last week, so looking 4 something new. nice phone.

I have a 5310, and it's a gorgeous phone but it never gets signal anywhere ever.

It'll get a full signal, then suddenly just cut out and it won't come back for hours. I've had this phone replaced 3 times and now I just want to get rid of it as a whole.

If you want a phone like the 5310, pay the extra and go with the improved 5610 (I think?) Slider in T-Mobile. That I hear has improved everything about the 5310 in a stylish casing.

Hey, I cant figure out how to set my music as a ringtone. I saved the music from the memory card but it shows up only on the music player and not in the music folder. The pictures nor video are crystal clear, but they do turn out a big resoultion like 1200 or something, they look ok on myspace, but you can tell its a phone pic. The videos are 3gp and are hard to do anything with after you've taken em off the camera. Overall, 2.75 outta 5 on the camera.

The texting is better with double-tap keyboard. You can't cut that or T9 permanently off, but it switches from T9 (default) to regular typing, to numbers and back.

It switches to basic text format, ie: pressing the button twice to get the the second number. T9 is where it tries to predict what you're texting and gives you a list of words. It's helpful but takes a LOT of getting used to. I just got the phone and I'm thinking of switching back to regular. But I'm giving T9 a shot. The pictures it takes are 1.3mp, not EXCELLENT, but if you need to take pictures, just get a camera. The resolution it puts out is 1280 by 1024. They're a little fuzzy but it's ok.

I added some music to the memory card from my computer and, i put it inside the phone and set one song as my ringing tone. My wife and i got this phone last month, She got the one gig, i got the two gig kingston cards at the store. The two gig card would only read temporarily in both phones, but the one gig worked well in either phone. Fortunatly I was able to return the 2gig kingston to the t-mobil store. I picked up a 2gig sandisk card at walmart $10 cheaper, and haven't had a problem.

Hard to say -- It's slimmer but the buttons are noticeably smaller (b/c there are more of them). Blast has a good email program built in. Reception, camera, music player, etc. seems to be about the same but I've only been playing with Blast for a few days. T809 is one of my all-time favorite Samsungs.

well i know with the past samsungs (like the d807) you can only use the song if its under 600kb, anything with a size bigger wont work and most if not every mp3 songs are well over 600kb. try getting a software that allows you to change the size or 1 that allows you to cut out a part of the song that you like.

Just to add to what romaine said, I've found on some Sammys that you have to change the extension of the file to .3gp (from .mp3 or .aac) in order for it to work as a ringtone. Do it on your computer before you bluetooth the file over to the phone. I'll try to remember to check on the Blast ...
