LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You do realize that 90% of the Republicans in the House and Senate, voted against the civil rights act, right? Martin Luther King Jr was a Christian Democrat, LOOK IT UP! He didn't always agree with JFK's principles, but he voted for JFK, and then for LBJ, that is documented. Gets your facts straight.
This sends chills through my body all over again - I saw it the night it aired. This video tribute shows me how far blacks & whites have come together over the years. It makes me even more proud to be Black in America.
mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord! glory hallelujah!
as moving, inspiring as this is... how on earth is obama going to live up to all this as a president? assuming he gets in... is he going to get painted as this messianic figure, the chosen one, the prophesied one, the second coming of martin luther king... how on earth is anyone meant to live up to all this? I'm worried already for him
I am not Black..but I cried and had chills when I saw and heard Obama's speech. To imagine how far we've come as a nation. And to imagine how joyful MLK would of been seeing where we are.
A great leader...deserves the respect of all human being..i have alot to thanks him.. because of his tributes we are were we are.

So he was apart of the party that successfully filibustered civil rights legisilation in the 1960?
Solid south much. He may or may not have been a republican but THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL, MLK was a democrat.
Also he didn't vote for JFK or LBJ, in part because most blacks were turned away from the polls in the early 60s.
