By your comment I'd guess you hated Hearl Harbor as well(cause you know how it ends.....), but thats just a guess derived from your comment. I loved Pearl Harbor, and Valkyrie. Just because you know how it ultimately ends, doesn't mean it can't be an enjoyable movie. There is the chance you just don't like documentaries. If you don't like 'em, don't watch 'em. Otherwise, try to enjoy, if you want.

I do like V. Its just that could have had more of a "punch" more background on the underground movement to kill Hilter. From what I understand, it took decades for the Germans to reflect on the WWII/Holocaust era and admit that they were lead into supporting and evil regime. BTW, I did like Pearl Harbor, but more could have been done to make the period more alive - like Japanese brutality that ultimately justified the use of the A bomb.

and why have accents? i mean just think of it this way, all the actors in the movie are actually speaking in german, and you understand and fluently speak german. i mean i dont see what the big deal is, i think its better that they didnt have "accents" because it would make it seem fake..because why would they be in germany speaking english with a german accent lol

I grew up in Germany and people here certainly would`t understand what sort of a problem you guys have with that "accent thing".

In all of the movies on tv the characters ( Western,indians,caveman,french­men,knights,... ) of course speak german.Everybody is used to that and actors like Cruise,Pitt,Willis,... keep their same german voices as long they are performing.

So it is sometimes disturbing for some people to listen to their "real" voices ,since the dubing on german tv is very good.

So of course Cruise speaks english with no german accent,since this is an american movie,made for an american audience,cruise is american and everybody in this movie speaks english as they will speak japanese in Japan,frensh in france and so on.

There used to be a seventies show with toni curtis and roger moore.Apparently it was very dull and boring in the originell version but it became a huge success in Germany through it excellent and very funny dubbing.

lions for lambs was huge. and enough with the American accent bashing's! if people would have actually watched the movie they would have known it was in German! we were just hearing it in English! this was all done at the beginning, and EVERYBODY else had an American accent too. we're hearing nothing about Kenneth Branagh, with an English accent in Germany! like jesus, it's not just a Tom Cruise fault. i'd give this movie an 8 at least. you have to be into this history to enjoy it, so it's 50/50

This movie is typical of Hollywood rewriting history . Hitlers generals tried to assassinate him so they could conduct the war properly . Hitler micro-managed the war to complete ineffeciency to the allies benefit . Our best option was to keep Hitler in power so he could keep throwing wrenches in the works . Its quite possible that if Hitler were to be assassinated the death toll would have been even higher that the what is was . Hitler was his own worst enemy .

I thought this movie was great! It was very historicaly accurate from the piano wire hanging, to all those men being killed, and when the bag fell and the man moved it all of this happened. Also that the second charge wasent there, and how close they came to taking Berlin. It was very good, it was well done by all actors including Cruise. Also, it was definetly egde of the seat action the whole way thru from beggining to end. I have no idea how that little guy with the moustache fell asleep. lol

iam from argentina and i think that tom cruise is one of the most intense actor in this time, he gave great performances: magnolia, last samurai, collateral, jerry maguire, interview with a vampire, etc. I dont understan why the people judge a person for his personal life and not by their performance. Yes, that's true for his recent work. Back in the 80s and early 90s, he was the big man on the block. Put Cruise in a movie, instant hit. But now, more than ever, he carries too much baggage. I heard that, at early viewings of Valkyrie, people were laughing at unintentionally funny scenes. I'm not seeing this movie, and Cruise makes me laugh whenever I see him sporting the eyepatch. They should have cast Ralph or Joseph Fiennes. Cruise is too well-known to disappear into a role.

I don't really think Cruise is too good of an actor. However,I love some of his movies like "Jerry Maguire", "A Few Good Men", "Minority Report" and "Mission: Impossible" part 2 and 3. As for his religion, I don't care if he follows it, but I think he should stop promoting his religion. Whenever he talks about it he sounds foolish. As for "Valkyrie", I think it looks OK, but I'm pretty hesitant about it too. I'll probably wait for DVD. Great episode though!

Excellent point, however I personally think it's different with Tom Cruise because he uses his acting career to promote his religion. The Church of Scientology also gets involved in Cruise's career, talking to studio executives etc. To me, Tom Cruise is the new Michael Jackson - I still appreciate his work, but he's just gone too far with personal issues.
