Man the pure rock n roll of this performance... SHIT! There's no pretending, no faking, no over-trying... This is just sheer passion and drive and blues... THIS IS MUSIC!!!! An absolute masterpiece of a song and classic performance too.
Plus I'm pretty sute Mick playing harmonica here is one of the sexiest, most erotic things I've ever seen.
Hells Yeah !! This catches th Stones in Their Zenith !! I agree ... NOTHING can touch these Guys from 69-74 ....Mick Taylor really added a LOT to Their Sound !! If I had a Time Machine ...... I'd hit this whole sweep of shows on this Tour !! If any one that wants to be in a Band & wants to see How to Do it on Stage .... This is a MUST SEE Concert in it's entirety !! Thanx for posting th Clip ... in it's Entirety !!! \m/ It's Rock-N-Fuckin'- Roll & I love it to Death !!! \m/-\m/
This is so jawdropping, I can't even put into words what this means to me. I have seen the Stones ten times since they came back in 1989, and NOTHING can touch what they did from 69-72........
i believe this was at the hofheinze pavillion in houston texas...my husband spent the night at the ticket place to get the tickets...we had front row seats... my friend rented a tux with tails and a top hat...he thru the top hat to mick and he wore it and then thru it back...at the end tons of rose petals were poured on the front rows from the ceiling...insainly fabulous ...:)
@stableshadow we actually thought the stones were going to disband ...the beatles had just split ...so it was seven kinds of sweet when he got those tickets ...i think they sold out in a couple of hours ...i still have my ticket stubs and some of the flower petals ...and yes at my age a time machine would come in handy:) ...and it's a given about the herb ...for medicinal purposes only:) ...woohoo ...young at heart always
Jagger wore that white jump suit at the 2nd F/W show and this show. The only way to eliminate which show this is not is by Charlie's "calypso" shirt & Taylor's "white silky shirt with shoulder art". Charlie wore a white "Exile" t-shirt (short sleeves) and he's definately got long sleeves on for this show. This information is all confirmed by newspaper clippings found on micro fiche.
I love how it's not perfect. It has FEEL man! They rip it out so naturally...a performance I wish I could have seen. The Stones are everywhere on the radio and in the media still...but truly, they are timeless. Timeless because they did it because they felt like fuckin' doing it.
@jplew138 that was what I thought too but did a little research and found this link all about the 72 tour. The key is to not what the played but what they were wearing. Search STP Exposed
Those who thought 1969 marked the end of an era, the stones proved them wrong with the 72 and 73 tours. Lots of credit to the one and only Mick Taylor.
I saw this on YouTube a long time ago and wad blown away! Then I saw it in theaters when ladies and gent was released and fuck was blown away by everyone an everything and it was loud people don't think the stones are good cause they don't play fast like zep or the who or gay bands like queen but truth is stones rock harder than them here is the proof
@mikitzt Keith once said in an interview (25X5, maybe?) that if you want the pure Mick Jagger then catch him when he plays the harmonica; ain't nobody better. I agree. Geez, this song and this performance when The Stones are this hot ain't nobody can touch them. Nobody. I saw them do this in 1972 and it was amazing! Bill's bass was like a non-stop punch in the gut.
Makes me wanna get in a bar fight.
