How do you mean it sounds "gay"? Gay is the last thing that comes to mind when I'm hear great musicians like Thom Yorke, or Jonsi, or Jim James, or Frank Black tap into their falsetto. Beautiful music has no sexual orientation. I swear, insecure straight males are so concerned with sexual alignment that they miss out on so many wonderful things. But I suppose I'm "gay" now that I've expressed myself with words like "beautiful" and "wonderful".
@CymbalRush r u dumb, I never said thom yorke was gay. I even admitted he was talented and obviously hes not the only one. Its just that when I hear a man signing with such a high voice, its usually a gay song. you want an example of a gay song? ''MIKA - Lollipop '' there, listen to this shit and tell me its not gay. you cant cuz its fucking gay and this is the kind of shit i hear on TV, radio, elevators, everywhere. i never hear good stuff like radiohead
Anyone who listens to this song will have a different interpretation of this song. Naturally, reactions to the lyrics will vary greatly. Some hear beauty while others hear horror like you said. I think this song is beautiful simply because of the melodious delivery.
Mm, it's about... I remember from an interview, but I'm not entirely sure I remember properly. I think it was an incident in the gulf war when a bunker full of innocents was bombed killing lots of women and children.
Actually, he said that Harrowdown Hill is the angriest song he ever wrote. Maybe at that time it was I Will. I understand your point though, and I argee.
its amusing how their music tend to play tricks with our emotions.. Some of their song sound sad, but the lyrics is the other way around.. True genius..
I'm not sure if anyone's heard the full band version of this song. Jonny said there was no way he could improve on such a good song. I think he was wrong.
I think that this version is better than the full band version on the album. It fits the spirit of the song better. So I think Jonny was right. Some songs just don't need a full band arrangement.
why is youtube a format for so many to argue? I come for the music...

@Hipgnostic then disregard the arguments, ponce.

@MICHAUDMICHAUD Why do you hate men singing in falsetto? That's ridiculous.
CymbalRush 5 months ago

I know a lot of people talk about "beauty"
But you should feel anger when you hear this
This is a song by thom illustrating all the horrors of the military
He said this was the "angriest song he's ever wrote"
