if you actually look at how the original song has been rearranged, recut and expanded on, like, say, draw a graph or something, you'll see that this track is one of the most amazing things ever to come out of the video game remix community.. it is the apotheosis of an already incredible piece
seriously one of the best games and boss music ever, this is back during the golden era of Square entertainment, when they made gems like this and Chrono Trigger
Pity when people can't take being bested in an argument. Could have given it to you if you said Secret of Evermore. Or Secret of the Stars. Sure, it's no Final Fantasy or Chrono Trigger, but it's pretty damn popular nonetheless.
Not popular? Then how do you explain it selling 1.83 million copies (admittedly mostly in Japan, but still...), getting MANY good reviews, and getting a port to the Virtual Console and iPhone?
Any game can get a port dude. Stop trying to over rate this game. I love the secret of mana series alot, But I know it's not popular. I had to tell atleast 5 of my friends about it, who were around my age (and I'm 21). Seriously. A game can have as many good reviews, because the people who played it obviously enjoyed it. and just incase the point hasn't got across you by now, a good game =/= a popular one.
I'm not overrating it. Most of my friends who have played SNES games have heard of it. And what part of selling 1.83 million copies do you not understand?
Out of the entire Seiken Densetsu series, Secret of Mana is arguably the most well known. Close to sixty reviews on GameFAQs. Unless I missed a few, in which there are more.
Stop trying to claim that a popular game is not popular. So some of your friends didn't know about it. Big freaking deal. Your friends =/= everyone.
@TranceCore3 22 here, and I've actually had many cases where they didn't knew the games I was talking about. Has nothing to do with it being popular or not, it has to do with their background, and what they like, and ofcourse their own experience with it. When 5 of your friends don't know the game you talk about does not mean in any way the game is/was not popular. Just sayin'
Badass remix this game has one of the greatest soundtracks ever, I still have yet to play a song that's this good.

this -as- game wasn't popular because when it was released it cost $79 US.
I know because I bought it. Imagine 80 bucks for a video game in 1990s money.
The game had a rebirth after the turn of the century when SNES emulators were quality enough to run its rom.
