Just to all the little 12 year olds and everyone else who is jumping " 4'6 ", it's not about how high you jump; it's about how you ride it. In Europe you have to do years of flat work before you are allowed to jump; to develop your seat, confidence, etc. If I wanted I could be competing 1.20m but what good would that do when my seat was crap? it's especially important in hunters/ eq.
you seem to be a little bit ahead of your horses motion. to keep from doing this sit into the saddle the few strides before takeoff and let your horses motion pop you up a little as she takes off. also you need to work on crest releasing. i couldnt tell if you were bumping her in the mouth or not but i did not see your hands moving with your horses neck which means your probably bumping her, your hands should move at least 1/2 way up the neck if not more depening on how short your rein is.
definitely could use some half haults in there. pick a good number of strides you want to achieve and make sure you get that number. just remember that those half haults are not oly to get a certain number of strides in there it is also to regulate where your horse is taking off at. to me it looked like you were getting too close and up underneath the jump. try puting a take off pole in front of that to regulate where she is taking off at. as for you try to feel your horse as tis taking off.
Aww pretty horsie:D I just started jumping 3"0 with my mare. Shes a jumper and I finally am getting used to her rushing to the jump. Great job. Cute little peanut horse:D
looks good you could def use some half haults but other than that your good. i think if i counted right on the second round you got a close 4 if you had used half haults you could have fit that better or if you were pushing for the 4 you could have gotten it closer
You have a nice jump, but you need to come in with a half-hault and then whoa inside the line. You have 3 beats inside the line and the least u should have is 4. Besides that looks good. Just keep it slow and collected and he/she wont hit the last rail!
slowing down would help a lot with getting the right spots. Just because the jumps get bigger doesn't mean you need to slow down. I can trot 3"6 with my 13.2 pony no problem.
Like she said she pushed her down the line too much and we got a short spot. but that doesnt mean it was rubish what matters is she got over the jump and it looked gr8
nice job! the second time, it was a little short, but you helped the horse out so it was all fine! great riding overall though! love the colors of the jumps!
aww thats good ahah :) it looks like she couldent get a proper stride in before you took of on the second jump , tahts y she jumped it abit sticky :) ut at least she cleared it :P
haha ya we paint them all different colors and make stuff or just find stuff around the barn to put under them. Then when we go to shows all the jumps seem plain
thanks! she tries really hard for me. Unfortunetly she pulled a suspensory though so we're not gonna be doing anything this year other than trying to help her recover completely.
Yup. he is six and he has competed up to novice level, but LOTS of potential to go higher. he also does hunters, but he kicks out and bucks a little bit sumtimes so, he isnt that great in the hunter ring, lol. Eventing is more fun anyway
very nice-such a cute horse! pretty atheletic for being small! that's also a pretty large jump for someone doing bn...have u thought about moving up to novice?
thanks! lol if you saw her xc you would understand. We usually only jump 2'6"-2'9" anyways. We only jump this high like once every couple of months... I am hopeing to move up to novice this fall though :)
i love it!!! SUBBED

Sorry but there is no such thing as 3' 5" the standard holes go up by 3" each time so it's either 3' 3" or 3' 6"
Shiny5Einy 2 years ago
She wrote in the description her standards don't go up regularly. Read the description BEFORE making stupid comments like this.
