But there were moments during the series that was pretty intense and shocking even for today's viewers- like the time Ma's leg got infected, was home alone, and had to cut the gang-grene out with a kitchen knife; or when Alice was shown burning alive in the school with Mary's baby, or later in the same ep. when Mary wouldn't let go of the burnt baby corpse.
