People look back fondly at this show as being innocent family fare- and for the most part is was, there was saccarine to spare. But there were moments during the series that was pretty intense and shocking even for today's viewers- like the time Ma's leg got infected, was home alone, and had to cut the gang-grene out with a kitchen knife; or when Alice was shown burning alive in the school with Mary's baby, or later in the same ep. when Mary wouldn't let go of the burnt baby corpse. Hardcore.
I remember being like 7 years old and they used to play reruns on KTLA 5 in LA, and for some reason this episode has stuck with me like 23 years later.
Hi all, I too am an opiate addict. I was using IV heroin everyday for over 4 years. I got on suboxone at first without insurance and had to pay $7 per pill for 90 pills per month plus Dr. fees, which was more than $600 a month just to stay clean. I've since gotten great insurance which allows me to get all my suboxone for free and I have a lot of extra suboxone scripts left over. I am willing to help anybody out who wants to get clean but doesn't have the funds to do it. pm me......
Though it was never officially said, I suspect that Albert got on drugs from residual guilt about accidentally killing Alice Garvey and Mary's baby son.
Is Morphine the same thing as Oxycodone? My niece was hooked on Oxycodone and she had to go to a rehab. She is drug free now, she's been that way for two years now.
@Sheri451 Morphine and OC are very similar. OC is far more addictive, though. It's pretty much impossible to kick without help. OC may be the most addictive drug in the world,
@gymnasticslevel5sjc season 9 the episode is called home again. and yea your totally right. They were running out of ideas. They even brought those new kids on to try and remake the young nelly and Laura etc.
@Rolyat360OoOoOOut I know right? Also back in the 1800s no one adopted kids, unless they were rich! I only bought seasons 5 and up to laugh at the stupidity, hahaha =)
I've been through withdrawal from a 300mg daily Oxycodone (twice as potent as Morphine) and I can tell you this: you can NOT run like that! Your legs feel like concrete!
@REDTEAM22003 morphine withdrawal feels like every bone in your body is breaking. its the worst pain you can imagine. I was on injections of it for a few weeks and when i stopped taking it i would be fine for a while and then a day or two later i was screaming in bed like i was being tortured.
JRG1120 is right Albert was 1st seen in the city when Laura discovered him so he still had that city instinct in him until Charles took him in to learn morals
I don`t remember this? Huh... I`ve been through morphine withdrawal and yes, I don`t think I`d have been running like that lol Bloody terrible torture it was.... (Spinal injury)
Why bother quiting ur only gonna live 2 b 35 anyway its 1800s who gives a fuck and BTW u can run like that ive done running around the block intense excercise u will do whatever but i gave up tired of all the BS FUCK it what i mean by that is im on suboxone now ill take that 4 the rest of life if need b ive detoxed so many Xs cant do it if im weak so b it dont care anymore but my life is bettr.
I've seen every episode & tv movie of Little House and Laura never gets an abortion. Her baby boy does die soon after birth (looks like what would be called SIDS) today but she never had an abortion.
They should have said that Albert got hooked on drugs to escape his continuing guilt over accidentally starting the fire at the blind school that killed Mary's child and Mrs. Garvey.
Yes. It was a "Very Special Episode" where Nels Oleson tells Laura Ingalls he has some peppermint taffy in his front pocket and.. well.. it all goes downhill from there.
Yeah, this is probalby the most intense LHOTP ever filmed. I don't see this one on TV and the one about the girl raped (Sylvia). These episodes are intense and very depressing.
Good thing he wasn't on crystal meth.

This is such bullshit. Morphine was totally legal then. Albert could have bought all he needed over the counter in any store...

This isn't a reaction to morphine addiction... It's a reaction to Obama being elected.
