  • Great model! Proto 2000 did a great job of 1960's Santa Fe f units with the side skirts removed and the extra detailing on the nose. The whole train looks great. Thanks for posting.

  • It's those metal plated engines that got me to preorder the new budd metal finish cars to overhaul my passenger fleet (BN Rainbow). The light gleams off them and they really do look like stainless steel. And your camera work isn't bad at all. I thought you did a great job with it.

  • A beautifull collection. And a n interesting internetsite as well. Kind regards form the NL

  • Police car with at 2: 17 :-)))

This looks as good as the real thing.

  • By the way, congratulations on an excellent layout. The level of skill and the amount of hard work that's gone into its development is obvious. You guys must feel very proud of your efforts over a long period of time.

    Well done!

  • @jamcgar I can't take credit for the layout, being a newcomer to the club, but they did do a great job. What's even more amazing is that the entire layout was moved from a previous location. Hard to imagine accomplishing such a job.

  • I've just received my F3 locos. Can anybody tell me how we know whether or not to put those large fan units, which come in a pack with the locos, on top of the locos?

Walthers is really lazy in NOT explaining to the buyer what to do (or NOT to do) with the little detailing extras. If you're an amateur like me, you've got no way of knowing from the lack of information Walthers provides in its packaging.

1 out of 10 is all I'm giving you guys at Walthers for being so slack and lazy!!!!!.

  • @jamcgar Yes, their documentation is very cookie-cutter. It's the same for all of their Proto 2000 F diesels, it seems.

  • A question about the Regals. When I received mine the finish between the side fluting was much rougher than any of the other cars. It was too much for me and I returned them. Walthers agreed and said it was due to the new mold made for these cars. They said "they are what they are" which didn't do much to impress me with their quality control. I'm hoping they will be rerun with this fixed. Am I the only one that this bothers? I loved seeing the new F3's- can't wait to get some.

  • Very nice. Whose F-units are you using?

  • @mocharger06 They are Walthers new Proto 2000 F3's. They were released week before last.

  • Gorgeous! The metalizing on the F-units and the passenger cars is jaw dropping!

  • @ACLTony Yes, they are amazing, and the Pleasure Dome car is amazing.

  • Do I win something for being 9th viewer? LOL

    Nice train anyway.

I wish there was a club in my area.

  • @habbyguys You should, but I can't think of a worthy prize! Having a club nearby is certainly a bonus. Sorry you can't enjoy the same.
