Amazing, essentially pole dancing on a much thicker surface/ 45 mm brass pole vs a tree trunk! VERY impressive. Also surprising to see a lot of the same moves as in pole dancing but slightly different variations.
You are very good. Where did you learn Mallakhamb, in India? I have an interest in this art and hope to one day train in it. Please let me know how you got started. Thanks.
Hi, i do malkhambh too but notice that you have some fabric on the pole, what is it may I ask? I would like to know as I would prefer wearing trousers to shorts if adding the fabric will allow that! Kindly let me know. Tks
Excellent video--thought I had seen at least a little bit of everything pole related. This was new to me. Nice brass monkey move, dove, and various other inverts too numerous to mention! Honest to goodness, I'm still a little shell shocked--don't know what to make of this one! Incredible, really!!!
I notice you like pole dancing as a sport perhaps you should move to Southern India where the sport of Mallakamb is taken seriously. The sport is more or less used for conditioning of the body for martial artists. There is a rope version too but in my opinion much harder. The boys normally stick to the pole whereas females stick to the rope. watch?v=Yfhu2WLj0jk for rope and watch?v=IN4GwOLhVbU for wooden pole.
Poledancefan I perhaps should rephrase what I wrote earlier. I just thought to throw in a bit of humour in there. There is no real need to go to India if you strike lucky you might find a Guru/instructor based in the US. My last post was more or less for those who have the passion for the art if they wish to go to India (much like toshiufp who have travelled to India to learn the art). I know little about this art though in term of its history. Its best to ask Toshiufp for specifics
Thank You! My co-worker is from India (Gujarat--am I saying that right?) He knew about the Indian pole sport and said he had even seen street perfromances of martial artists using rope, silks, and pillars or wooden poles to climb and do aerial acrobatics. ONe day I would like to travel to India. My best friend is also married to a lady from India. Thank you for your comment!!
Yeah Gujarat is right. Its famous for its exceptionally good vegetarian food it must be because of the large Jain population there. I also read somewhere that palm trees are used instead of poles sometimes as well typically in rural South India. I think I may have seen something similar in Lanka when I was small but on a horizontal pole and rope. It will ne another year until I visit Sri Lanka and I can't wait :)

Hi, reitak18
at the first, make pole for the proper size of the space.
secondary, make base(stand or feet) to fix the pole.
i made an cross shaped stand. with lumber. and made hole in the pole to fit it.
although i hope you make the better elaborations.
Thanks
