Splendored Thing is just that.It is a wonderful love story with a deeply sad ending that should not have happened.Never kill the hero or heroine. It leaves the audience or reader miserable and frustrated, whether true or for drama. It is a fact that movies in which that happens do not do well at the box office. Of course there are always exceptions. Holden and Jennifer are absolutely gorgeous and remarkable. Thanks for posting!

The World of Suzie Wong is posted but under initials or partial title. Cannot be more specific. I just do not remember. I have seen the whole movie. I have also run across it just looking for old movies.

IF this is not the most romantic film from the 50,s....Everything is romantic-the place, the characters, the clothes, the music...How the love story is developing..gently- I find that Jenifer Jones is an underrated actress- She make classics, and here..she is just perfect-Absolutely beautiful acting- I,m always seeing this film...I will ever do-

He's lucky she didn't turn him down with dialogue like: "I didn't (look you up) because I thought you would be the intellectual type with glasses" or

"would you have dinner with me tonight, I'm a very pleasant man."

Then, again I guess Bill Holden can do anything, lol, but I really hope he didn't let the spectacled intellectual types bother him.
