Love the French horn around 3:02!!

  • YES MORE DYNAMICS! AND PLAY UR FF AS FF NOT AS MF!!!!!!!!!!!

  • concert on this tonight for me on 1st t-bone!!

  • My wind ensemble is doing this song for contest!!! I am playing first alto sax so I have this beautiful solo!!! Yay! ^_^

  • I played this song either my junior or senior year in high school. I had the lead alto solo.such a beautiful piece.

  • The best song that our school has played. We did this piece and it was fantastic.

  • GAH!! The horns sound so beautiful and i have to learn first horn by tomorrow for a concert. I must do justice for this song and for Barbara! (and for horns everywhere)

  • The french horn solo is the best part. I love their sound.

  • just played this song for festival in my concert 1 band

  • i love this song. i play first trombone and its really fun

  • OMG such great fidelity for a youtube video it makes me smile =). Plus with sennheiser cx300II's it's just delicious. This group has a great sound!

  • FRENCH HORNS ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!

  • FRENCH HORNS ALL DAY !!!

  • Yep, we are playing this next for Wind Ensemble, Go French Horns!

  • We are playing this piece for our Christmas concert. It is such a beautiful song in the first place, and this kinda just personifies it with a wonderful-sounding band. I love this arrangement.

  • WOO bass clarinet low D at measure 30

  • Now when we played this song for the 1st time... there was no conductor... he told us to feel the music and you will know what to do. and since that VERY first rehersal... we never used him at at State Festival... we go straight 1's and they had to come down off of their judging table and thank us personally... one was even crying. I wish I had the video of it :/

  • No oboe? Too bad, it adds a lot to the equation.

  • wow is there not an oboe in this band?? o.O

btw i love this performance =)

  • GREAT horn rip at 4:34-4:44. HORNS ALL DAY!!!

  • If you really like the horns you should listen to cajun folk songs 2 by frank ticheli, has amazing horn lead as well as some great solos (listen to both movements)

  • yes it was a VERY good rip!

  • sounded great but couldve used more dynamics. its probably just the recording though. very clean though.

  • Flutes are fruits, go low brass!

  • low brass ROCKS!!! tuba's all the way dawg.

  • HEY flutes are not fruits we are r just as important lol good line tho!

  • i love the sound.. but i didnt feel like the band was with the conductor in some parts

  • we played this in our christmas concert!! [or the concert we held as opposed to the christmas concert... stupid snow :/]

but i loved plying this! just wish we had the melody more... not that the counter melody thing at the end was bad but... [i play 2ed flute]

  • Yeah, this song is pretty good.

I'm 1st trumpet, in 9th grade, we were going to play it but our percussions section just can't play it right because they don't pay attention.

It's fairly easy as far as range, by my standards anyway, only goes up to an A, but it does require some precise counting and a good attention span. ;)

  • im fourth clarinet and were playing this at our spring concert. :) its so ahmayzing

  • I played this in HS, and when I was a freshman my Math Teacher passed away :'( And our band director had us play it at our concert to honor him. There was NOT a dry eye in the room. We also played this again my sophomore year at another concert to honor another teacher who had passed away. :'( It was really moving! We dedicated our festival performance of this song to those teachers, it inspired us to play better!

  • i hate that song we have to play it though

  • We just started this piece.

    I'm in 9th grade and 1st trumpet.

    This is a gorgeous song

  • That's amazing...

We're playing this in my Middle school band for a festival err two.

I play Alto Sax 1 [the solo] and he makes me sound awful. Haha. Beautiful song.

  • I love this song!! We're playing it in my Middle school band class and I happen to have all of the flute solos in it. Flutes rule!!

  • I love, love, LOVE this arrangement of Amazing Grace. We played this song for our school's winter concert and for a concert with another town's school band. It's so beautiful! I play Alto Sax 2.

  • awesome sax solo. I love this piece. We're playing this and I have to play 2nd alto

  • Were playing this now. Its a very sophisticated piece. I love it! Im first horn!

  • Very nice sound, guys. A little too slow for me (feels a little lethargic) and the balance is a bit off (ie flutes too overpowering over the top of the alto sax solo) but a very nicely played by solo players.

Is this a community band cos if it is, I'm impressed.

  • such a beautiful piece. i get goosebumps ever time i hear it.

  • Wonderful Sax Solo

  • mitur binesderty

  • i love that horn rip at 4:43-4:44. Its one of my favorite parts of the piece.

  • when i was in highschool, we played this a few times, the last time that the song was played by us and i believe by the school band there was for a fellow bandmate who got hit by a car saving his brother. everytime i hear it, it still gives me chills. i love this song on so many levels. i think that we we played it for a concert after he died, there wasnt a dry eye in the house.

  • nice horn section

  • Horn players rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice piece enjoy playing it in symphonic band

  • my school band has been practicing this piece and I love this version of the song.

  • flutes should quiet down for the beautiful sax solo....no one wants screeching in their ears when they're trying to listen to music

  • hahahhah i love the hate fo rthe flute (i play trumpet lol) but i think its very balanced haha lol

  • i play trumpet too!

    great minds think alike xD

  • yup they sure doo! :) lol

  • trumpet rules the band!!

  • No disagreement there. :)

  • the whole point of this song is to have multiple parts playing at once, to create a melodious contrast.

  • 1:01-1:02 made my ears hurt... but the rest of it is really beautiful.

  • that was the most beautiful thing i have ever heard. im 15 and in band and we play this

  • Just perfict!!

  • Nice alto sax solo...no bias there, but this is an awesome band...is it community?

  • nice
