  • Your voice is making me die inside. i have just wasted seven minutes of my life. please if you can't make what de Botton did better, don't waste my time by making this half baked vomit

  • As you've said "Social status is not a new phenomenon." It is in, in fact, as ancient as Rome. Social mobility has been a benchmark of any developed society for a a long time.

  • 'pirate jenny' great song

  • Yes, and it caused me no copyright dramas, unlike the music I originally used for the intro to part one :)

  • Good videos with much truth. I would, however, disagree with you on the falling of our celebrities. The failure of our icons is as entertaining as it is important. People here are not so much disappointed by our celebrities failures, but rather enthralled by them. The fascinating thing is that their mistakes equivicates them to our neighbors, relatives or even ourselves.

  • I Have A Request For The First Video In This Series Via Email. Is It Saved Anywhere?

  • I can upload it to a website for you if you like. I've been meaning to change the opening music (which is why it got canned by Youtube) but have not had the time. Actually, I might re-upload it and attempt a "fair use" claim first - if you can wait.

  • I Can Wait Until It Appears On Youtube, Certainly; Take Your Time. Thanx Again.

  • Nailed it nicely in the 3rd stanza,Dan.

"In the United States the majority undertakes to supply a multitude of ready-made opinions for the use of individuals, who are thus relieved from the necessity of forming opinions of their own." --That's really rather good.

So much so I must go and read some of his work.

    Ironic,I know.

    --Ataraxia :)

  • Basically, it's all a bunch of bullshit and you can take it or leave it...or you can embrace "insanity", which is working for me.

  • Haha. I think "leaving" it ultimately leads to a far lesser degree of suffering - even if it's only the suffering of knowing you're engaging in bullshit. For a conscious person, that knowledge can haunt.

  • Good luck with that. Been there, done that. I don't agree with everything in these videos, but I do agree that the culture of consumptionism in America is bad for our mental health, not to mention bad for the future of the world. Consumptionism is the antithesis of sustainability and also of a balanced ego.

  • Indeed, but the first step to addressing that reality is understanding, and these matters are seldom talked about at the level of psychology, and in a critical way.

    It's all about memes.

    Thanks for watching, btw.
