The final monologue by Ron Perlman's character is intelligently written. This is a good film in its originality and depiction of how both sides of political extremes get nowhere.

@goatbut29 To me the movie wasn't saying that all conservatives are bad and all liberals good, but that there are extremes (like Hitler) within all political, religious etc groups. The question is are these extremes dangerous or just part of having freedom of thought and speech?

The Conservatives. The point of the film is that we must not become too extreme in our values on both ends of the axis. If we do, we become like the people I mentioned previously.

All the victims were such straw men. Most of the people they kill in this movie are so far to the right Rush Limbaugh would find their views extreme. It's would be like if every liberal in the film were a deranged Marxist college professor and former hippie, who would awkwardly attempt to fit the word "proletariat" into every conversation as a comic relief device. I had no idea what the point of the movie was by the end, or if it had one. But it seemed to be trying to push a point.

Duranls, the beautiful thing about this movie is that it doesn't matter which side of the aisle you're on. The main message is something way deeper than that.

I watched it for the very first time when I was a Bill Clinton supporter, and I loved it. I continued to watch it as my political leanings change and continued to enjoyed it just as much. I believe people who have been conservatives their entire lives would love this movie just as much as liberals.
