This movie is about fanaticism. When your actions are based in your total conviction that you're right and the other side is wrong (in this movie, to the point of murder people), you're are a fanatic.
The final monologue by Ron Perlman's character is intelligently written. This is a good film in its originality and depiction of how both sides of political extremes get nowhere.
@FukPosers If you believe that, then you haven't focused on the actual conclusion of the film. These people did everything but put a yellow ribbon in the coats of the "future Hitlers" and gas the "future Hitlers" with cyclon B. Don't you get the lesson???
Funny. Can you imagine a conservative version of this putrid piece of shit? 'Hitler had it right' says the conservative. Riiight. Whats next, all Southerners are child molesters? Oh wait...they say that in there dont they. These fucking losers. I wish to god for a civil war where I could kill cocksuckers like this and be rewarded for it. Whos declared war? Pretty sure liberals have. Lets give them what they want. I hope they all die. Everyone involved in this movie. Die.
@goatbut29 To me the movie wasn't saying that all conservatives are bad and all liberals good, but that there are extremes (like Hitler) within all political, religious etc groups. The question is are these extremes dangerous or just part of having freedom of thought and speech?
@goatbut29 In the last 150 years, I ask you these questions. Who owned human beings? Who objectified people because they were of another gender? Who massacred people because of their religious beliefs?
The Conservatives. The point of the film is that we must not become too extreme in our values on both ends of the axis. If we do, we become like the people I mentioned previously.
When I taught English at University, I had students watch this movie and then we would have a round table. Everyone had something to say, the discussion would grow more and more interesting...
If they cannot defeat an opponents argument, they try to label them as something to silence them. It's an old Saul Olinsky tactic that is even in use today by the likes of Pelosi and bama and the rest.
@bdfunke Watch the movie, my friend. I loved it when I was a liberal, and I love it now as a neoconservative. It was, and is, my favorite movie of all times. At the end, I believe it makes a larger point that is above right and left. And overall, I think you might end up liking it.
@roxieheart100 It's not that nobody knows about it, it's just that 95% of America could care less about leftist ideologies and therefore know that watching this movie would be a waste of there life.
All the victims were such straw men. Most of the people they kill in this movie are so far to the right Rush Limbaugh would find their views extreme. It's would be like if every liberal in the film were a deranged Marxist college professor and former hippie, who would awkwardly attempt to fit the word "proletariat" into every conversation as a comic relief device. I had no idea what the point of the movie was by the end, or if it had one. But it seemed to be trying to push a point.
After watching this movie about liberals inviting conservatives to kill them off, I wonder what would happen if they invited a person with SYNCRETIC political views. Someone who takes the conservative view of some issues and a liberal view on some issues.
I am not talking about centrists and moderates. I am talking about people who take conservative and liberal views to create their own ideology.
They would probably kill anyone who mildly disagrees with them at some point. Anyway, I think this movie isn't about liberalism vs. conservatism. At least, it's not supposed to be. I think it had an overarching message about discourse.
Anyway, gtg buy wine. Got a fancy dinner tomorrow. Hehe.
I saw this movie many years ago. Try making this movie in a political reverse way and all HELL would brake loose. There would be cries of HATE speech and on and on...Oh BUTT it's ok to SHIT on conservatives. HOLLYWEIRD IS MORALLY BANKRUPT.
It's hilarious how people can watch this movie and lash out against the political opposition afterwards. Just goes to show that some people don't have the brains to understand a the simple message of this movie.
I love how leftists have a 'final solution' for all us conservatives out there. better get my fake IDs together cause youre gonna be coming for me one day!
this is one of my fav movies, I watch it a month ago when I was having trouble of sleeping, loved it, specially cause I'm liberal too and like to have discussion meetings, but this O.O, an splendid movie
Duranls, the beautiful thing about this movie is that it doesn't matter which side of the aisle you're on. The main message is something way deeper than that.
I watched it for the very first time when I was a Bill Clinton supporter, and I loved it. I continued to watch it as my political leanings change and continued to enjoyed it just as much. I believe people who have been conservatives their entire lives would love this movie just as much as liberals.
yes, i got that vibe too and i believe taht was the directors intensions to poke fun of the extreme on both sides...although, that nazi stuff was pushing it quite a bit, but ok. and no, i haven't even heard of the last guest? to be honest, i only found out about The Last Supper cuz Penner was in it and he was my fav on Survivor
At the end there were 6 people at the table, and the 6th one killed the 5. Think about it.

Libs are sick by the way.
In the Hollywood PLEDGE video where they all pledge to serve Obama, Cameron Diaz says: "So that we will be on this planet forever."
She's totally creepy. Her shocking blue Aryan eyes do not help her to be any less creepy either.
