  • wow i really liked this video what about you guys

  • The American revolution had nothing to do with taxes. Not only were Americans taxed 26 times less than normal Britons, but every indirect tax, except the tea tax, which was at an extremely low rate (at the expense of the east india trade company) had been repealed.

  • @TheLiberalKnight Bro shut up uu dont know wtf ur talkin bout so sit back, watch the vid, and shut ur fuckenx mouth

  • @DasiaBellamy No, this video is wrong, it's American propaganda. Americas were taxed 26 times less than normal Britons were, and the only indirect tax that existed at the time of the revolution was the tea tax, which was at a historic low. The Americans who rebelled against Britain were filthly rich landowners, not the poor, who mostly remained loyal.

  • @TheLiberalKnight ummm...I don't understand why your reply to this person was so much nicer than your reply to me when they told you to "shut ur fuckenx mouth" and I simply stated what I had learned. Are you getting us mixed up?

  • @TheLiberalKnight It was about "No Taxation without Representation." It wasn't about the AMOUNT that they were being taxed (it was very cheap), but rather the fact that they were being taxed in the first place. The King of England was taxing us in the US without giving us any sort of say or rights. He didn't care about what we had to say. We had no voice. We wanted to be heard. Here's a kids video about it: /watch?v=t-9pDZMRCpQ

  • @Nicole3900 WRONG AGAIN! Why the FUCK are Americans so stupid!?

The King of England taxing you? Are you mentally ill? You people probably think 'the patriot' is realisitc. This is just heart breaking, knowing that a country full of dumb fucks who don't even know their own history contribute 40% to world defence.

  • @TheLiberalKnight Why are non-Americans so rude? I'd rather be "stupid" than rude any day. Show some respect.

What I said is correct. You don't know anything about American history. You're not even American. I have learned it my whole life. And we have many intelligent people in this country,so stop being rude. Why do you even care so much?

I am not mentally ill(what's wrong w/ that?). Your parents must have been terrible and not taught you how to be nice.I feel bad for you.

  • @Nicole3900 You're a fucking retard! You're such an idiot, it is painful to even talk to you! The fact that you think the 'King of England' (typical offensive ignorance from a Yank, thinkin that England is the same thing as Britain) taxed ANYONE just proves what a weak minded fool you are. You're not a historian, you believe in the American fantasy, a fake version of history.

  • @TheLiberalKnight *sigh* It's painful to talk to you as well. You have no respect. You're just another typical idiotic, rude, ignorant youtuber. That's too bad. And NO I do NOT think England is the same thing as Britain. You're so ignorant to assume that. Britain = Wales, England, Scotland. UK = Britain + Northern Ireland.Surprised that I know that? Ugh.Thank God all Brits aren't like you.

You're not a historian either.I was just telling you what I learned. Why are you so rude?

  • @Nicole3900 Why do you say 'King of England', then? Americans don't seem to realise that this causes great offense to Welshmen, Scotsman, and Northern Irishmen.

I am a well qualified historian. And the truth is, what the Americans pretend to be their history is vastly different to how every other country in the world sees it.

  • @TheLiberalKnight When I said "King of England" I did not know that it was offensive to you. I am sorry for offending you; I did not know. Can you explain to me how it is offensive?

I agree that some of what we are taught it quite biased. Our school system needs vast improving.

Thank you for not being rude; I appreciate it.

  • @Nicole3900 It's offense because Great Britain is composed of four countries; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Every foreigner on the planet seems to think that 'England' means the same thing as 'Britain'. I am English, but to the Welsh and Scots, being called 'English' sounds as if their countries have been conquered. That is why it causes offense.

I like what America stands for, but this anti-imperialist stance is a joke, because America is 100% imperialist.

  • @TheLiberalKnight I knew that GB was 4 countries, but I did not realize it was offensive. Should I say the King of GB instead? I understand that when referring to accents, the same thing applies. Lots of foreigners say they like some one's "British accent" when they should say "English accent" and people from England get annoyed. I always specify the accent (English, Welsh, Scottish). That's kind of random, but I thought I'd mention it.

  • @Nicole3900

The King of Great Britain and Ireland, or, His Britannic Majesty,

    King George III

  • @TheLiberalKnight The founding fathers were major imperialists that's why I admire them yet most Americans admire them because they think they were anti imperialist. some think we were the good guys fighting an evil empire, when Britain was really an empire of liberty, its just that rebels founded a democracy which in many ways was inspired by the British yet more modernized in the sense that it was a republic not a monarchy, so us winning served a purpose, at least admit that

  • @VanOstrum At least you got the first bit right. But I'm afraid a republican form of government is not 'more advanced' than the constitutional monarchy system. Your system allows for an elected politician to be the head of state, which by default risks dictatorships. The republican system allowed Hitler to seize power in the 1930s. The Monarch is not a politician and is unbiased, therefore their consent is needed for a dictatorship to be legitimate.

  • @TheLiberalKnight

    here here

  • @TheLiberalKnight Britain did have a a democracy which thanks to them gave us the idea to take the next step(a republic instead of a monarchy, now we were not nicer, remember the British were in in some ways was better (freeing slaves for example) nevertheless it was a more advanced government.

  • @VanOstrum

    Nay.
