@kittylactose The space battleship Libra had a massive massive cannon that was unparalleled in the AC universe. It was at least as powerful as the Memento Mori since it destroyed an entire island. It was, however, designed faulty to need maintenance after every shot, repairs lasting at least a day.

So, as you can imagine, dropping the damn thing on the planet proved to be a more efficient solution than a continuous barrage.

While this show does bring a lot of political themes in, which really add to the realism of it... They seem to forget about budgets and that top of the line mobile suits would most likely be nightmarishly expensive to produce :P

You also have to consider that the A-LAWS have the full financial backing of the Federation, which is more than you can say for the Titans, who not only created a ridiculous amount of nonsensical mobile suit designs but also allegedly designed and produced said weapons themselves.
