  • That 70s show sent me here =D

  • sometimes he looks like jackie chan

  • Let me be the first to say, Rudy sent me here

  • I think some women dont give a chance for men to show that they CAN be good fathers. I know a lot of kids dont have dads in there lives...and i was one of them...but i dont believe that all those men didn't WANT to be better fathers...

  • Streep plays a great villain in this movie; she really makes you hate her guts.

  • who got the son in the end?

  • @LazyRiver0404 *SPOILERS* *SPOILERS* The courts order the son to go with his mother, but she sees the connection that her son and father have made and the changes and knows that her son is already home with his father so in the end the dad gets the son.

  • I have see the film in german and i have read the book.. It's great, because it's so nearly the real life.. It was great for me.

    It's a feeling.. I can't describe it.

    Really really nice.

  • I think Meryl Streep has gotten even prettier as she's aged

  • my neighbor looks like meryl streep

  • I grew up without a father and the first time I saw this movie was when I was 13. I hadn't cried in years. It's a truly great movie! To those of you who haven't seen it... you must!

  • Man fuck divorce!

  • @aelcheapo AMEN

  • such a hard movie to watch..so heart wrenching. i always wish we could have seen more..does she just leave billy again? do they split the time more evenly?

  • I was nearly in tears when I saw this. I am a full time single dad too and my son is called Billy !..I actualy first saw it on DVD when My son was the same age as the kid in the film, it wasnt long ago, he is ten now.I can so relate to this film. And that other one with Will Smith.

  • this won best picture over Apocalypse Now? ugh...

  • Anybody else think this was gonna be about the guy from sienfeld...

  • what's the music?

  • we had to learn about kramer v kramer in our law class..the case is named like that..i dont know if it's related

  • THIS FILM WAS GREAT AND ALSO VERY MOVING.CONGRATS TO DUSTIN HOFFMAN

  • Meryl Streep looked like a mix between Jodie Foster and Uma Thurman when she was young

  • @DIANAROSS4EVER because if he did, the movie won't be as legendary as it was.

  • Movie never answered the question: How come a NY ad exec can't hire a nanny to watch his kid?

  • @steveconn maybe he didn't want a nanny bringing up his kid,and wanted to do it himself,no?.

  • @69DawgEstyle He'd be working in the next room while the nanny made meals, washed clothes, etc. Movie has huge plot holes.

  • i haven't seen this movie in ages. it used to be on tv a lot when i was little.

  • Thumbs up if you watch the movie because your parents are divorced :)

  • Kramer vs. Predator.........you want him back you want him back

  • Godzilla is conspicuous by his absence.

  • brilliant and emotionally draining film!

  • Great movie, but I don't know if its better than Apocalypse Now...

  • He was just working so hard to earn a living for them and be a good husband and father. she was such a bitch to him who broke his heart suddenly and left. she's typical of so many women. fair-weather soulmates...

  • I adore this movie. Dustin Hoffman is real Master of Acting. He did phenomenal job here and call me crazy but I think he is much more talented than a little bit overrated Robert De Niro and Al Pacino (I love them though). Justin Henry played Hoffman's screen son and he was impressive too - amazing acting! Meryl Streep was great

  • my mom and i watched it like an hour ago and i just wanna say that this movie had us crying near the end. i advice for all families to watch it together :)

  • Dustin Hoffman blows me away

  • moviefan1970's: sorry, but his acting job in The Graduate is better

  • @BattleAngel - Really? I think she aged really well. Her skin is still luminous.

  • meryl was so pretty back then... what happened?

i'm sorry to ask but its ture.

  • MERYL STREEP <3 :')

  • most human movie to date beautiful

  • luv it!!!

  • Usher (R&B singer) based his Album "Raymond vs Raymond" off this movie... u jus learned sumthin today :)

  • @Mrslilsho

    Usher sucks

I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfest

  • @Ddagan Thanks shit mouth

  • @Mrslilsho who gives a shit

  • @Mrslilsho Usher also sucks. So nobody sucks

  • I find this movie like transmiting a masculinist message of how men is discrimated.I am a man and i find this a good movie.

  • apparently that little kid won or got nominated for n oscar and he is the youngest ever nomenie/winner

  • Dustin Hoffman's performance in this was one of the greatest dramatic ones ever!

  • Meryl Streep is beautifuuul!!

  • the ending left me wondering! is she gonna go away again and leave her son or is she gonna stay?

  • @maraypaz Meryl's character leaves her son with Dustin Hoffman. I think she stays in New York so she can be close to her son as Dustin Hoffman says she can visit Billy anytime she wants.

  • Wow, Meryl looked really beautiful back then

  • This movie is so brilliantly done! awesome!

  • DUSTIN HOFFMAN FOREVER MERYL FOREVER

  • i think its a very sexist remark to make as there are all kinds of people in the world and in todays times women are at times equally responsible for failures in marriage due to the increased pressures equity with men has brought about . All marriages break due to a very high number of reasons and not all marriages are results of masculine ingenuinity or faults.

  • however that said the question that should be considered on deciding the custody of a child/ children who are entrapped between a matrimobial dispute should be decided on a wide scale on an individual basis depending upon the record , health , age , income , type of job , financial status and so many others instead of a straight jacket formula to be proceeded with is what i think of a valid solution although courts worldwide have time and again failed to follow .

  • Einer der schönsten und besten Filme aller Zeiten!!!!!!

    5 Oscar:

    Bester Film

    Beste Regie: Robert Benton

Beste Darsteller: Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Streep

    Bestes adaptiertes Drehbuch: Robert Benton

  • This movie tears me up.

  • is that little kid river pheonix?

  • No, it's Justin Henry, who got a Best Supporting Oscar nomination for his performance.

  • @KellyGreen5555 Who knew that this sweet kid, would play such a big jerk, years later, in sixteen candles...

  • Sure not... that's Macaulay Culkin!

  • we watched this in our psychology class as we tried to study about parenting.

  • Was this when voiceover-less trailers were still a big thing? Or was this one of the phew 1979 trailers without a voiceover?

  • beautiful movie, and i love that song is so funny :D

  • what's the name of the song? can anyone tell me?

  • Mandolin Concerto in C Major. Allegro movement.

    Composed by Antonio Vivaldi

  • This looks a comedy boy was i wrong

  • no, it's not a comedy, it's a very sad drama.

  • I know that thats why I said boy was I wrong

  • Meryl is the best!!!!!is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I love she and her movies too!!!!!!is an amazing actress

  • @moviefan1970s

His best performance. But his best film is Rain Man.

  • @Clembo No, that's not true.

  • @astat1

Of course it is. Though Hoffman gets the opportunity to do the long, expansive character arc in Kramer, Rain Man has a juxtaposition to character development, in Hoffman, while Cruise gives a severely under rated performance that is equal, if not better, to Hoffman's realization in Kramer. I think it's better because I can relate more to family love than I can divorce. But rest assured KvK is a masterpiece and Hoffman gets me on his side in a big way towards the end of Act One.

  • @moviefan1970s 2nd best film he's done. Rain Man is the best movie he's done. i agree that it is one of his best films

  • This movie reminds me of 'The Champ' which was also released the same year as this...love this movie alot!

  • and this was the highest grossing film of it's year? wHY?!

  • How about go and see it?

  • he didn't want to work with meryl?! i didn't know that! wow... i think i died of shock. he's the first i've heard of who didn't. =/ well... i'd love to work with her. lmao if i had a talented acting bone in my body. =D

  • Not sure if that is true. I do know Hoffman passed gas within seconds of audition for both Steep and Williams to see reaction. Strange and true.

  • Great movie, but Dustin Hoffman didn't like working with Meryl really? Wow. well he sure was lucky if anything. She's the most fabulous actress ever. <33

  • This movie is great. I love it, but this is the worst trailer I've ever seen.

  • I know. Such a brilliant film, but this trailer portrays a insipid and stupid film I've never seen.

  • yeah it defenitley doesn't do the movie justice

  • if they remade this i think robert downey jr. would be a perfect ted kramer

  • Hopefully they wont!

  • psh its gonn happen eventually lol i hope it dont either but since filmakers cant come up with anything new anymore there bound to do re-makes.

  • they can never remake a movie like this its like remaking the godfather its meant to stay the way it is

  • This film is timeless. Its subject matter is perhaps more relevant now than when it was made in 1979.

  • i was surprised that dustin hoffman did not lilke working with meryl. he wanted susan surandon to play joanna. imao, i like meryl much more!

  • Meryl is the most amazing person on this planet =]

  • dustin hoffman is really hot..

  • Amen

  • lovely film!!

  • Meryl is SOOOO TALENTED in EVERYTHING she does. God Bless her! <33333
