But elite skirmishers have the attack bonus vs. Ranged units which are the teutonic knights main weakness. Longbowmen have the range but they don't have a bonus vs other archers. The concept I'm trying to form is one of the Teutonic knights handling any melée units that are attacking while a ranged unit like skirmishers handling any threat to the knights from other ranged units.

Quick question to anybody who can and will answer? Which is the better unit to use with the Teutonic knight and use it's strengths to cover the teutonic knights weaknesses? Elite skirmishers or longbowmen?

@TheDragonlegion i say longbowman because the have great range of cover and to compare with skirmishers that only deals great damage against range but its covering range is small. using a longbowman can cover and do extensive damage to a opponent

Switch it around and have a few fully upgraded elite Teutonic knights stand against an army of basic huskarls. Or better yet pit elite Teutonic knights against elite samurai.

Who or what can stand up to an army of Teutonic knights that size. The knights are in their element and at their best in advantages. Assault and slaughter in close combat are the trademark tactics of the Teutonic knights. And those weren't even elite knights.

omg they were not 300 spartas only =.=. read your history. It was 6,700 greek allies and 300 spartans. so 7,000 men against 100,000. There is no way 300 men can wistand a charge from 100,000 men. and this is nothing like the battle of thermopalae.

TK's rape anything except heavy cavalry archers and elephants. Huskarls suck without archer support, that is why they died so easily. With a hundred archers and some upgrades they would have done a lot better.

large groups of spanish conquestadors are unstoppable. Mainly against infantry they get owned by siege equiptment though an army of about 20 of them could take 60 or more champions no doubt

tuetonic knight are the best soldiers in the game if you need something done they are the unit to use they are better then any cavalry and can take out persian elephants the only bad thing is about them is that they are very slow..........

As u know cat. have a special attack against infantry in general..moreover thinking of the fact teut. knights r so handy coz of their 10/5 on resistance,i'm gonna make u notice this armour is useless against units with bonus like Cat.......soooooooo cat r better ^^

They are awesome, true, but I always fall back on fully upgraded persian paladins, or maybe cataphracts, because the extra speed cavalry have allow them to run through gaps etc really quickly.

Elite Samurais can own Elite Tuetonic Knights, I know cause I was fighting 2v1 against my cusins and I had like 4 armys of 40 and 1 of 10 and my cusin had like 3-4 armys of samurais and I got that ass beat. Samurais got attack bonus vs other Unique units. But i personally adore the Sarracens.

Just use 200 Teutonic knights and 100 crossbowmen for the Greeks and 500 each of elite skirmishers and heavy cavalry archers for the Persians. Even better, add a seaside factor to the game. Give each side a navy of a few dozen ships and 5 transport ships, with reinforcements.

Have you used theodric the goth as the spartans? I did that and filled the rest of the level with spearman and 10 theodrics beat them all cos their life comes back quicker than the spearman can take it as long asthe 10 stay as a group. try it.
