The Public option should be nothing more than welfare hospitals and access to doctors in residency training.

Trusting the most corrupt government (and their officers) in the world to solve this issue, that could take a few level heads a lunch break to sort out, is ridiculous.

I think it's a great compromise if they weren't willing to go to the full public option alternative. This way there will still be pressure on the insurance companies that the public option could be voted back in. This is. of course, assuming the public option works in containing costs - which I am confident in.

Also, by just the threat of the public option these states could theoretically still be overcharging the people, but just not as much - so better at least.

The public option can fail if it doesnt get a big enough pool of clients in it.

But say a year from the time the public option is available and they only have 1mil people in the public option. The pool isnt at the level necessary to negotiate with pharma and other industries that want to fight it, so it doesnt cut costs there.

Say it only gets the lowest class of people since its so limiting, and it becomes only a cost sink with no healthy people putting in, no diversity.

It looks like more of a failure, and people become disheartened but dont know why it failed.

They wont blame it on conservatives because conservatives are stronger and better at the game of emotional string pulling, at marketing.

We needed a strong bill now. We may not get another chance with this kind of self defeating option.

Aside from that, various ways of paying have been proposed, and you may have chosen to forget, but if we could get a full real public option, its an option that people will pay into.

The ununsured are likely to be people who would need help paying for it, but a real public option would have most people that get it paying full premiums which would help fund it.

The tax on those who choose to be uninsured would also help pay for it.

Injuries dont always predictably happen. Often times your illness or injury isnt your fault

Should you pay into your future likely costs, or should I pay your bills if you cant?
