Ian Anderson changed my life and the way I look the music... I´m a huge fan of the music history and, specially, the evolution of the progressive rock, and is incredible that Jethro isn´t mention many times in this history and how important that it was... it always was in a second plan but I think that is the most important band for many later things like progressive metal and the combination with folk (like Opeth)

I had to be at a recording studio in Brum with my band 'Glass On Ice' the following day at 9 a.m when this was on... I stayed up all night to watch Tull and didn't get any sleep, it was worth it though lol

Thank you Thank you. Hit the 20 Years of Tull concert at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center), Saratoga in NY, USA in 1988 and will never forget it. Was in love, was in Tull, was in ecstasy!
I've always told non-Tull fans that you have to think of listening to Tull like going to see a play by Shakespeare. Or watching a group of minstrels in a forest spin tales of fairies and forgotten magic. The music of Tull isn't written, it's composed carefully and painstakingly. They are. in my mind, three things, a Celtic folk group, a rock band and modern jazz players. I think this is why some non-fans get confused. Because Tull is many genres, not just one, like Emerson Lake and Palmer.
ianhawdon, thank you! I've been trawling the net since 1990 looking for this.I had it on vhs all those years ago.Its a gem of a documentary with some real Tull classics included. You're a true Minstrel in the Gallery!
OH MY FREEKING GOD!!! Thankyou for uploading this!!!!! I had it on video and played it until the tape streached!!!!! I would kiss you if i ever met you!
From what i remember i thought Barriemore Barlow left after John Glascock died and the other 3 guys were left in the dust due to contract problems regarding the A album in 1980 , so Ian had to hire mostly outside hand
Cool how they're saying it's been 20 years already, and this was 20 years ago. With the benefit of hindsight, Tull are still going strong after 40 years now!
It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre. Now more than ever, British voters need to understand that they are being colonised. Unless they act decisively to halt this mass immigration wave, Britain and its thousands of years of culture, history and tradition will be submerged under the immigration invasion.
Well the tape ran out during this documentary...If you check ITV night time clip on main page of mine its got the rest on...Be good to see it if you upload...
The first advert break during Blues Brothers gives it away! Same recording, same night.. spooky!
I'm not sure how long my tape goes after the documentary ends, but I'm sure we could probably extend your continuity vid quite a bit.. and the Advert bloopers during Tull are quite interesting too!
ha ha...I know...Ive got loads of old tapes from NightTime and Tyne tees which im uploading. I recorded the Blues Bros when I was about 11 and always kept old VHS' like this
yes! that's the one! Does your copy have the advert blooper when the VT Clock can clearly be seen scrolling upwards for about 20-30 seconds? If it does, then it's no doubt the same night! I'll probably get round to uploading that in a few weeks.
I think my Dad started recording at the start of the Blues Bros, and just let it run till the end of the tape! I would have been... -1 when it was recorded :-)
Early stuff was fantastic....later stuff sounds like Dire Straights

Thanks for putting this up. I can't watch my copy any more as I don't have a VCR.
Did they cut out Dave Rees, or is he and the "British Rail" bloke on later than Too Old...?
By the way, Terry Ellis is a waste of f$%^&^$%£%g videotape!!!!!

Still my favorite band but watching the heavy horses stuff reminds me of how Ian Fucked Up by firing Barry and John and those guys.
