@cyberconnects don't give up atleast make a 3d mmorpg for iPod and see how much sales you get from that something small will become something big in the end and you will make money and you will spend a little for development and all that stuff. Please atleast make a 3d mmorpg for iPod and then evolve it to pc users and more plp will know the game more and news of it will spread.therefore allowing you to make a pc version consider this ,thanks
god why don't they make some new dot hack games. it would be awesome if they made one for ps3 (or ps4 when it comes out) that actually has online gameplay and character customization and boards and guilds and stuff. that would be bad-ass. it would be second only to an actual "the world" game with visors that make you feel like you're there.
GameBot, a hardware-based type bot, doesn't make any trace on the game server unlike the other software-based program that you can easily download on the internet. so,NEVER worry about the delete of your account!
CC Basicly has lost most of its staff, The two 3d Modelers have given up, and left CC. So in a final statement Joe released the Source code to the punlic. The end. Game over.
@CyberConnects Yes, I know that. I just think it was a bad idea to release any code to the community, however, I am impressed about how smoothly the servers been running, just wish there was a bit more RP.
@Looking4Salvation Well, it does look like the infection series version 1 of the world, but there are a few differences, such as the way you input the keywords to go to the field, there aren't a lot of people running around, and the gate is a little different from the one in the ps2 game. No, I don't play the game too much. >_> lol
.Hack infection,It would of been alot better if you could of played as Azure kite!!!!But an amazing game none the less i play it all the time new ones like rebrith are getting so long

We had a bigger version (several conceps actually) but decided the copy...because we wanted people going out and explorting then sitting in root towns (which was a huge problem in past games for us).

You've got this stuff down pat, man. Although, the coloration and lighting seem off, but that's to be expected without the original programs for .hack// textures.
and Hopefully.... leveling will be more like .hack//G.U. lots of levels, but eaiser to level up, compared to .hack// IMOQ, where it was harder, The 2D "The World" Was quite annoying to level up, many sought glitches to level up fast.... Because it took to much. Even more than stinking lol Runescape.... anyways I hope the character models look better and more .hack// style before the game is released.. that will hurt my choice to play it though...... if they look the way the demo showed...

@MattEureka But then again, Moon Tree sees it as something that can be debated. Pks will never stop through negotiations. And there will always be pks. Which means PKKs, never ending cycle of "The World" Since pks were aloud. There are PKKs who player kills for fun but target only Pks, whether than to help people or defend them. But in opinion its still not as bad as a pointless purpose of a PK. lol Either way the game will be fun, and I'll have to train to become powerful again.
You should use Cam Studio to record. It works pretty much the same way as Hyper Cam, only it doesn't show the "unregistered" thing at the top left, it looks a little different, and the quality is soooo much better. It also has more features (like the ability to put in special annotations).
Please try it, because I want to be able to see what you are showing in the highest quality possible. If you need help with it, ask me and I will show you how to get to each setting that HyperCam uses.
Everyone, i may not be an admin or anything, but these guys have made a 2d ver. of the world 3 times, though in my opinion the first was best. I have high hopes for the 3d version and im sure it will turn out as great as the .hack games.

Use camstudio if you get the chance to set the quality on 80 or 70% and it doesn't show a logo like unregistered in it... but camstudio is awesome once you fix the bugs in it.

The Workers of this are Joseph who deals with the engine, me who makes and textures the models, and puts them together...and beila who supplies me the textures to work with. Without beila it would not be as good.
Textures, shading, and detail could use a little work, but all in all, a very respectable building block for graphics/movement. I worked on something similar a few years ago when I was obsessed with OpenGL programming. Cell shading, dynamic lighting(and shadowing), better texture filtering/transparency, and you'll have a great looking engine. The color schemes of the textures do very much fit the bill. I wouldn't worry about geometric detail too much. If you're going for the anime look, no need.
I agree with a few things like the shadowing and whatnot, however its RC (and by you calling it a great engine, probably never heard of it XD). They have RC pro atm which does have lightning and shadowing...however its still being worked on, so its still far more unstable then RC to use.
If RC isn't a good engine, why use it? Sounds pretty limited if you have to get a pro version to use shadows. I got those with the 2nd OpenGL engine I wrote. You might try Ogre3D, its free and incredibly powerful/easy to work with. Also, are you planning to make all of the fields/dungeons manually? The keywords make the number of fields grow exponentially... A 25 keyword set with 3 per field is 15625 fields. You'll be a sickly old man by the time thats done =/. I can help though, if you want. =]
talk to joseph stacko, hes in charge of the engine and programming. I'm telling you right now though, if it cant export easily from 3ds...I'm not that intrested.
3ds is definitely possible. I was working on essentially this same project on my own about 3 years ago. I spent a lot of time looking at the dungeon and field maps from the ps2 games and they all look like smart terrain built from a randomly generated heightmap for the field and a random matrix for the dungeons. I wrote a map generator that follows rules similar to the ones seen in the ps2 games based on a template and parameters like level/desired length. I'd be happy to port it to the project.
again talk to Joseph about that...and tell him I told you too. ALthoguh I understand what your saying, I dont fully know whats needed or what can do what engine and programing wise.
because the .hack game was based on "64" graphics (even though it was on ps2). If you replay the older games, their graphics were crap. We're trying to restore the old .hack in every way.
You try making an MMO with a small team. I'd say it looks pretty damn good. I'd be happy with a .hack// MMO if it was on the Doom engine if it had quality gameplay.

There will be PKing in the game they said, but not in mac anu or any other root town. Those will be safe zones.

There will not be a MAC version. You can however play it by running a program on a MAC that lets you operate windows programs.

I spent a lot of time looking at the dungeon and field maps from the ps2 games and they all look like smart terrain built from a randomly generated heightmap for the field and a random matrix for the dungeons. I wrote a map generator that follows rules similar to the ones seen in the ps2 games based on a template and parameters like level/desired length. I'd be happy to port it to the project.

because the .hack game was based on "64" graphics (even though it was on ps2). If you replay the older games, their graphics were crap. We're trying to restore the old .hack in every way.

You try making an MMO with a small team. I'd say it looks pretty damn good. I'd be happy with a .hack// MMO if it was on the Doom engine if it had quality gameplay.

you guys are doing GREAT on tihs! but I think you should mock up a PC model to walk around in 3rd person with, so we can get a look at what the game'll sort of feel like.
I can't wait to see how far this goes :3

also, use the grass texture in my models for the terrian textures...so it matches more. Looks nice though...good job
