One of my favorites as a child back in the 60s. Because my brother and I could draw and we were poor, we made cutout cardboard robots of Gigantor and the villians he faced and played with them for hours. Imagination was key.

This was my favorite cartoon of all times, and then Speed Racer. I remember watching this cartoon when i was like 5 years old(43 years ago). My sister use to make me take a nap just before it came on because she wanted to watch the stories. I used to fight her over this cartoon, even though she mostly won.

So I blame the man, not the machine. I can hear Gigantor muttering beneath his breath after the incident since he KNOWS he's gonna take the blame for his controlling master. Poor bastard!

I use to sing this song while working in the garage. My wife asked me once where I got it. I told her all about the cartoons that I watched. She had never seen it so she couldnt really appreciate. It wasnt until youtube came out that I was able to actually show her and my kids these great cartoons. Thank you youtube!

@Mugen123456789 Ok i got you, it had just the opposite affect on me. I loved the intro song as a kid. The intro to Gigantor and Speed Racer always stirred serious feelings inside me. It was like i was in a trance whenever i watched the intro as a kid.

In Late 70's and early 80's there was a rap (the cold crush brothers) group that sampled this intro and i thought they were real kool.

This was an action cartoon that kids could sink their teeth into. Jimmy Sparks was only 12 or 13 years old, but he could drive a car, carry a semi automatic pistol under his school boy uniform jacket, and he controlled Gigantor. Talk about kid enpowerment. Plus, it was incredibly VIOLENT. In one episoid Gigantor and his party were responded on troop ships to Antartica to stop a terrorist threat. The enemy sub torpedoed all the ships. Gigantor and his party lived. 1000s of Soldiers died.

WOW! What trip to see this again after about 40 years! I cam say this and Buggs Bunny were probably all I watched back in the mid sixties as a small child. I think this was my favorite. We didint even have sesame street back then. Or anything else. It was a few shows including the Banana Splits but I was already starting to get too old for them when they came around.
