LOL "I ain't never heard of that." The way you said that was hilarious. I love Sweet tea. I'm from Northern Virginia and sadly sweet tea is not as popular up here :( Im still a southern girl though. :)
baking soda? hmmm. i'm gonna have to try that. i'm from the north and i use honey instead of sugar its pretty good. you should try it some times not much honey is needed
@duemamay i will try the honey.....never done it.......some folks also get indegestion and cottonmouth from sweet tea....baking soda fixes that too.....
lived in SC for 3years thats just about the exact way my neighbor showed me how to make tea but not with baking soda gonna have to try that. We take a pot about the size of yours and go 1/2 in from the top let it just light boil and put in 6 of them tea bags and sit just till it stops steaming mix in with sugar and run cold water over the bags as we fill (like my tea kinda strong) lol Great vid keepem comin i miss dixie
Baking soda, never heard of it, great tip. I like iced tea : ) Wonder how hard it would be to get hard tea going off of that. Ever try iced coffee? I had some in Japan and, wow! it's pretty good. I was drinking it in the 80s and everyone thought I was nuts, thought about marketing it in the US, should have done it.
@KillaC4Mammie you could bust the bags.....and the paper is bitter.....never lemon....wouldnt ruin the great taste of tea.........as of coffee....black.....never ruin the great taste of coffee either...lol
@ironhead41 The bitterness is in the tea itself, too. Not supposed to squeeze green or white teas either (with or without bags).
I didn't know the baking soda trick. Good to remember if I use that cheap tea? And I've got my family used to 1/2 cup of sugar per gallon of tea. lol. Gotta watch the sugar intake since I'm already insulin resistant.
I tried the baking soda and it took the chlorine taste out of the water it seemed, which is fine with me.
