Do you have any more historic film of American Automobiles? I have a Deuce Roadster, while watching this video it would be great to go back in time for just a day to re live for yourself what i would have been like to drive an original show room classic... thanks 4 posting
@srercrcr lol ok; 1. 'firestone', the tire company, was around in 1932, and fords were equiped with them. 'firestine' the dealership, was the name of the guy who owned the dealership. 2. the 32 V8 would easily go up the hill in high gear; have you ever driven one?
I grew up a block away from where that car comes up "the Broadway Brick Hill", which is now named Roanoke Rd. There's a stop sign at the top of the hill now. If you go there, where the asphalt is broken you can see the bricks underneath.
They should make new cars that look like 1930s cars (without copying an exact model, but looking straight from that time) but with modern features like air-bags and stuff.
Winning a new car in 1932 would've been a very big deal for most people. The Depression was at its worst level, and a lot of people could not consider buying a new car then. That would've been a big incentive to regularly go to a Fox Theater, to possibly score a new Ford in a contest.
I want a hair raisin wild ride in one of these shitboxes.. I tell ya I got a whole of one of these years ago and I had it wrapped around a pole.Junkaroo in the wreckin yard where she belongs..adious
32 Fords are the highest summit of automotive achievement. Beauty of design, graceful and compact. Nothing before. Nothing since. Every component and feature on the car is an example of form following function. The gas tank is a work of art. The frame horn covers. The dash etc. They are a tool and die maker's masterpiece. It's the only example of a car where the frame is actually incorporated into and adds beauty to the car. Stand on end a 32 frame. It looks like a Coke bottle.
@LitterboxDiorama did you ever hear that the first V8s burned so much oil that dealers poured Bon-Ami into the cylinders? Why Bon-Ami, I don't know...
We broke free. finally able too do what WE wanted. but your right they were always dressed right. must have really smelled bad though. don't forget the clothes back then were so HEAVY and there was no air conditioning. they had it tough very tough back then. and I for one salute them!
haha. did he say thermostatically controlled shock aborbers? wasnt '32 the first year they were available with v8's? im suprised they didnt mention that.

@WorldChallenge It's sad to see such beautiful cars turned into gaudy ugly monsters, especially since they don't make new ones.

@WorldChallenge Me neither. They just make them look ugly when they do that.

1. Firestine? Perhaps Firestone at one time. 2. Up that hill in high gear? No way.

it is hard to believe ford designed the body, it had to be done by an artsy fellow
