Yakov Kasman, Medtner Sonata in G minor Op.22 (1/2)

This is individual in all the right ways - distinctive but wholly at the service of the composer and the music. He admirably captures the fluid way Medtner's rhythms flow across barlines and main beats. His rather hunched manner at the keyboard (plainly less effortful than you might suppose by merely looking at him) reminds me of the young Alexeev when he won the Leeds Competition.
