shit, while you're downloading Gimp, you might as well go and download Blender too. It has a video sequencer on it with multiple overlay tracks and compositing nodes. Actually, you dont even need the video sequencer to do this. Just add two 2D planes, U.V. texture the one with the pre shot video and the pre keyed muzzel flash on the other and adjust sizes, move everything in place with keyframes, select the number of frames and the render settings boombattabing youre done!
