i tried to make these and i put in a tablespoon of salt by accident...i tried to compensate by adding lots of sugar and vannilla extract....they did not taste very good XD D: next time i'm not adding any salt at all

@fortunecookie75 tablespoon?! thats ALOT of the salt!. most baking or like making waffles or pancakes only requires 1 pinch or at most 1/4 of salt. depending on the quantity of the recipe.. so a tablespoon of salt is a lot.

You make the waffles look easy. I can remember my mom getting a Waffle Iron for Christmas in the early 60's and her cussing everytime she used it. We didn't have waffles much. I have been single for several years now and not much of a cook. At my age it might be to late to learn to cook. And it sux to cook for just one, well two if you count my dog. But you do make cooking look easy and you make it look fun and most of your dishes look mouth watering. I may give it a try.

As I'm resurrecting my kitchen and making it all brand new and spiffy, I've found things I'd forgotten I had. Just in the past month, I found my waffle iron *and* electric skillet that I got in the 60s, cleaned them up and found that they still work, and got some "fuzzy feelings" in the process. So now you've given me reason to get the waffle iron back out and actually use it. This will be fun! I only have whole wheat flour on hand, but I'll wing it.

My waistline will hate you... :-)

You forgot one important thing in making waffles: heavily greasing the waffle iron. The idea is to make it super crispy on the outside, but soft and gentle on the inside.

On a side note though, I want in on that slumber party XD
