This game was awesome. Donkey Kong is definitely one of my favorite franchises, and without Rare, I feel it's still in good hands. I miss the Kremlings, but the Tikis were still awesome. Hope to see a new Donkey Kong soon, but I can wait.
Last year's Donkey Kong Country Returns was an absolute blast. It really managed to recreate that old-school platforming flir, albeit with a great soundtrack and some stunning moments. My favorite levels were the difficult Mine Cart levels and Rocket Barrel levels. These had D.K. in a constantly-moving vehicle, dodging crumbling rocks, lava geysers, and other frantic setpieces by mere inches. The music for the Rocket Barrels is appropriately quick and crazy.
