  • i use beeswax because it is made to stop mites from reproducing

  • •As far as plastic vs. wooden/wax foundation it's pretty much preference. I prefer the wood/wax. I think the bees like it better and they do better with it. I would suggest you try both in the same super and see what results you get.

    Good luck! :)

    • In each of the deeps (hive bodies) I keep 10 frames. In each of the supers I keep 9 so that the bees draw out comb a little bit deeper. (They sell spacers to accommodate 9 frames) As far as heat if I were you I would drill a couple ventilation holes in the front of the hive. That and you want either a slatted rack on top of the bottom board or a "screened" bottom board but NOT both the rack AND the screened bottom.

  • the summer here in iraq is very hot ,,can i insert more frames to make the hive more larger inspite of hot whether?another question can you tell me is there any difference between plastic frames and wax frame because i saw in youtube some of the beekeeper put a plastic frames instead of the wax made by the bees?

  • great looking bee hive, If i could comment, I use two or three wooden frames when starting new hives, thay build cone on it faster. An old beekeeper pasted it to me.. Good Job
