  • I thought it had 260HP ???

  • Never seen a LTZ one lol

  • i got a cobalt lt coupe as my first car, my family only drives gm's and i can see why, its a great ride my dad has an oldsmobile silhouette and my mom drives a yukon, my brother drives a silverado and im gonna be the same way. btw were canadian so americans rest assured, were taking care of u lol

  • I love my LS its a pretty good but once I got my SS supercharged the HP difference could be noticed. Now I feel like my LS is too slow.lol

  • Mitsubishi started putting bluetooth, navi, etc. on a regular lancer and then other lame american car companies soon followed their footsteps. Monkey see monkey do...

  • this car is for people who want to rice out a car, but only buy american (facepalm)

  • @SuperCracksmoke obveously u dont kno the difference between American made. and a rice burner

  • hopefully getting one of these before my graduation!! :D :D :D

  • Like how much is this car ?

  • can somebody help me decide which car i should get ?

Chevy Cobalt or Toyota Celica GT

    PLEASE!!!

  • @EMIN3M416 cobalt ss

  • WOW. The guy said 'cobalt' 31 times during the video, and he said 'chevrolet cobalt' at least 8 of those times. Like we didn't know what he was talking about from the get go. What a sucky boring soundless review...

  • One thing wrong in this video is where he says all trims of the Cobalt come with an auxiliary port, this is only partially correct. 2007 and up models came with this but the older models do not have them at all and the radios aren't interchangeable without alot of work, I drive an 06.

  • the 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS was assembled in

    Lordstown, Ohio, United States

  • Ha... did anyone catch the part where he said that the cobalt's engine wasnt as quiet as a toyota or honda 4 cylinder engine? Toyotas are known for their overly noisy engines.... ive driven Cobalts and other eco-tech powered vehicles, they are noisier than a V6 but nowhere close to the racket that a toyota engine makes! lol - some of these so-called automotive reviews need to be less opinion and more facts, like

  • ugly

  • did anybody else look at her butt while she was putting the golf clubs in the trunk?

  • @gangstaassvideos its flat...

  • @icool247 it was a joke cool guy.

  • Why does this have the same steering wheel as the corvette?

  • I WANT IT!

  • The Cobalt has been replace by the new n better looking Cruze.

  • @columbuscrewfan20 Big price difference?

  • I love my cobalt its an LT Coupe 2006 however i dont like the speed my cousins they said it goes slow. IM not one of those mindless idiots that likes fast cars to race, but my university is an hour away from where i live and at times i wish it would go alot faster, what are something i can do to make my car go faster other than going 90 mph lol? all in all it gets great gas mileage but i scratched the bottom off like 2 weeks ago =( it took of some yellow paint but its not that noticeable =/

  • It's okay looking but i would either get the Ddge Caiber or the Ford Focus the Cobalt would be in the middle of my small car list

  • Thumbs up if you wanna bang the chick featured in the video!

  • @z28kindaguy YEAHH!

  • "But they lack the refinement and quite operation of 4cylinder engines.." its a car designed for young dudes.. there is a racing exhaust on the ss for a reason.

  • if you get it decked out it fucking ripps like hell

  • This car awsome i have one

  • she's not even that hot......

  • I'd rather to have that chick to feel my d**k!!

  • oh yeah... stroke that ceiling 2:42

  • @sunnymuffins13208 this comment made me laugh for a couple minutes :)

  • I luv this and I think Im going to get one I just wish it had more room in the back for my friends :D

  • Why are you comparing a Cobalt Coupe with a Caliber and Scion for rear seat room?

  • Does the non supercharged ss version need premium fuel?

  • Props to her for driving an ss/sc in high heels.

  • Comment removed

  • @David12King wait GM wants to stop making the cobalt why? its acculy a very nice car. sure the back seat is cramped but the coblat is acculy a very good economy car

  • Comment removed

  • @David12King Probly. but when u think about it the cobalt is acculy the first ever small compact car that GM is acculy making awsome money off of. GM is stupid if they stop making the cobalt. first GM stoped making ponaic and whos next chevy?, buick?, or even cadilac?

  • Comment removed

  • @David12King same here i have a mazda 626 sedan. and i couldnt agree more with u oh well its the way life is

  • I rented this car recently. Its one of the worst I ever drove. Yeah, inside it all looks futuristic. But if you are not careful you will hit something. Its brakes are horrible. The wheels are slippery. Good on gas though. Also the music player is great. But dont buy this car if you are prone to accidents.

  • @whtswrngwthupeople if the engines were the same they would both be honda, or chevy. the japanese at honda have designed an engine which is more powerfull, smaller and more fuel efecient... and that was over 18 years ago

  • WTF do they mean when they always say the Honda has a More "refined" engine. WTF does is that suppose to mean? It's the same engine!

  • i have a 2006 ssN/A and i fit me and 4 other guys in it. was a little crammed and made it a hell of alot slower but wasnt to bad.

  • @SkoalBoy93 exactly man. it slows a lot when more than 2 adults are in it. u kno.

  • i don't like chevy's but my lil bro has one and its really black'd out. its maybe the only chevy car i like. lol. i'm just sayin. oh and its an '06 SS.

  • @928baller no one cares

  • Even if one of these could crack the 4 second mark remeber what it is...lol even if the windows were limo tinted out I'd still be embrassed to drive one. I'll take that V8 POSI Everytime.

  • Well I'm looking at the SS or the Civic Si but I dont know where do go, both have great reviews

  • @godsephro test drive both then pick, never go by word of mouth. you gotta like it if you buy it.

  • I'm pretty surprised KBB liked the Cobalt so much! Usually they aren't to impressed with Domestic cars, but this makes me happy, seeing as this is one of my favorite Chevy models! :)

  • says its not like cavilear? wha???

  • for all honda fanboys who say the cobalt is ugly it looks very similar to your civic to me im kind of geting tired of honda fanboys talking about how their si would smoke a cobalt if it had a turbo but then your throwing any reliability with your civic out the window point being your civic does not have a turbo so just keep wishing and maybe it will come true

  • high value? That would make me want the car less.

  • the narrator sounds like tanner foust

  • The base trim doesn't have ABS standard? Are they crazy? No wonder they went under in 2008.

  • i love how they couldn't resist throwing in mention of ricer cars... (sarcasm)

  • Whats she doing in the car? Bitch get back in the kitchen.

  • @fidalgo99 LOL!!!!

  • @fidalgo99 hahahahahah too funny

  • Wait, "both trims are naturally aspirated"? No.... the SS has a supercharger dude.

  • @UrbanArtifact naturally aspirated doesn't mean just supercharged

  • these are junk.. gm can't make a 4cyl

  • @teofthe1 And how would YOU know? Do you own one? If not then don't make such a stupid comment & not back it up.

  • @redhead4ever33 no.. i would not own one.. though i do like to laugh at my friend who owns one, he thinks it's cool but it sounds and looks like shit. be lucky if parts dont start flying off when you go faster than 70

  • @teofthe1 if parts start flying off at 70...thats funny... what do you own? i drive an 07 cobalt ss/sc..and i believe i hit over 70 all the time ;) especially when i walk around civic si's and mustang gt's... if you dont know what ur talking about dont say nothin kk.. cuz u just look stupid to those of us who do...

  • @teofthe1

All i say is Cobalt ss VS Competition= Cobalt wins every time. Civic cant even hold a candle. Civic when they rev sound like my riding lawn mower pushed to rabbit LAWL. I cant have that. I need an aggressive sound from my car. Thats why i bought a cobalt. Cheaper, faster, supports my country, better fuel economy, IMO it looks better, and cheaper insurance. Civic tend to be close to top of most stolen car list so insurance is a bit higher. Lawl Japanese.

  • @tywoerner its at the top of the most stolen car list becuase its better than almost any american car and all the korean ones. How many civics do you see daily, weekly, monthly, now how many cobalt ss's do you see daily, weekly, monthly. Any car that comes from japan well i would they will ALWAYS be better than our american POS cars.

  • im sepose to get a cobalt soon...anyone who has one good or bad experience id liek to know???

  • @0purple0oranges0 I got a friend that has the Turbo edition Cobalt SS. They are nice n compared to my SRT-4 Neon, theyre jus as fast. The interior is okay but some of the plastics paint tends to wear off after a while, dunno why though. But its a nice sporty car. Get it bro.

  • no the aux input is not available on all models mine is an 06 ss supercharged and it doesnt have it

  • @AmplifiedAudio this is where your understanding of the words "available" and "standard" is confusing you.

  • is anybody elses SS badge crooked, like this car at 0:31? lol GM fail mine was horribly crooked.

  • this is a lie i have a cobalt ls and it does not have the aux port

  • what is that chick? 4'11? When I sit in the back I have less then 1" to sit and I'm 5'9!~

the base cobalt is slow as hell. my SOHC motor in my slow ass honda is faster then the stock cobalt, I know, I got the track times to prove it. Then you have the SS, okay, its SS, let me SS or Turbo my SOHC and watch me roll past the cobalt. American company's will never make small cars, ever. That one sports car by Pontiac was probably one of the best american made small cars ever.

  • @bastec666 my friend is 6'4" and he sits in the back of my cobalt all the time.. he may not be super comfy but that motha fucka fits.. if u can fit a 6'4" guy in the back of a comapct car im happy =)

  • @cblt2007 not to be argumentative, but do you have the 2 door or 4 door?

the 2 door I have found quite small (especially when front drivers need leg room). everyone I know is 5'6 and up. so with the front seats @ a comfortable space, and then someone behind (like me), i have no leg room and find my heat hitting the ceiling.

    just my experience.

the SS is still quite nice for the price/speed ratio.....

  • @bastec666

lol you can say that about any car out there. "oh its faster than mine? well let me mod my engine too..." thats not the point, the point is that its cheaper. i love hondas for their reliability, but slap a turbo on there and let me know how much it costs

  • @k2theeev I'm lost here, are you rooting for the cobalt SS or the Honda?

Intake/Header/Exhaust on 2006 DOHC cobalt VS my Intake/Header/Exhaust on my 1993 SOHC and I run the exact time 1/4 mile. We even swapped cars and still ran the same time, both are standard.

Honda is cheaper and more reliable IMO.

But as I said, I can't really tell what you rooting for.... Only post on this video I remember is the one where I said the power/price ratio of a ss cobalt is decent....

  • I like the Cobalt SS and Neon SRT-4, that's what happens when you make a cheap car that's fast and factory turbo. You put power in the hands of those who will use it. You see these $50,000 corvettes putting around with some old fuck behind the wheel. too bad vettes aren't 20 grand. haha, now that would be some shit.

  • "it produces 25 extra hp with the supercharger over the base model"???? WTF? Why the hell is it rated at 205 at the crank? Why the hell does it put down more brake HP than crank hp?

  • I'm gonna reply to my own comment.....I jumped the gun. The image was of the SC, and they were talking about the 2.4. My bad.

  • GM just announced today that they're recalling 1.3 million cars, and it includes the 2005 to 2010 Chevy Cobalt. If you have a Cobalt, the steering may fail.

  • the steering will not fail, it just gets stiff at low speeds. I just bought a used Supercharged SS, and that was one of the first things I noticed, but I thought it was just the electric steering doing it's thing....although, my ION never did this.

  • @TranCendenZ STOP PUTTING THIS ON COBALT VIDEOS!

  • joshbrelly1: Why should I stop informing people of the safety recall? I already had quite a few Chevy Cobalt and Pontiac G5 owners thanking me for informing them about the recall.

  • @TranCendenZ what recall?

  • no wonder theyre going uder

  • @TranCendenZ ive never heard of this

  • @TranCendenZ just the electric power steering motor....it can still be driven if it goes out, its just harder to steer.

  • does anyone else feel like the ss is a total knockoff of the civic SI

  • @teofthe No. The Civic SI doesn't come turbo'd from the factory. A factory turbo Civic Si would be bad ass though, I think Honda needs to do it.

  • @teofthe ummm no not really... the cobalt... handles bettter...is faster... is supercharged.. or turbocharged.. is cheaper.. mmm doesnt seem like a knock to me ^-^

  • I lllllllllllllllllllllooove it!!!!

  • NO thank,,,

    i dont like this car

  • Cobalts have a known issue with the power steering which can be dangerous.

    Google "Cobalt power steering failure"

    No recall to date.

  • @Hosermike if it has that problem...its there fault righ so you just send it back and they fix the thing right?

  • Is a Cobalt a good first car? To me it looks good, and affordable.

  • I bought a 2007 Cobalt in about September 2007, and it was a great, affordable, nice car. It was my first brand-new car. (Sadly, ice on the roads six months later ended up with me in an accident and the car was totaled out. I walked away with only a burn from the airbag, and killer whiplash.)

So yeah, a nice, easy to drive, attractive-looking car!

  • @WonderfulWordsofLife is it ok to drive in the winter...it does have traction control or was it just real bad out?

  • @0purple0oranges0 I'm way late on responding to this, but yeah, it's great in the wintertime! It has good control in the snow. My case was special-- the road was solid ice. There were a lot of accidents that day.

  • @WonderfulWordsofLife thanks!...ya i got a chev cobalt ss maybe a month or 2 ago by boyfriend did the shopping for me, then i kinda researched it after and found out about the recall. lesson learned to do my own shit but its been an aamazing drive so far and real good on gas. i was worried when i saw your comment but thanks for getting back i was still wondering about geting winter tires for it so its good to know :)

  • Yea that is what i meant, i meant slip not spin, or spin more then needed, so i wasnt that far off.

  • A limited slip dif makes the tires not spin when you accelerate i'm pretty sure

  • @kwbassacoustic

Im pretty sure you are talking about something you know nothing about.

A limited slip actually lock when a wheel is slipping, making both front wheels spinning at the same speed.

It is an absolute minimum for any car pretending to be a sports car.

  • So then, KBB is sposered by Chevrolet?

  • sponswred. sponsird. sponcerd.

  • I had a chevy cavalier got me to 190.000!!...and it was the best car I ever had...SOO i hope my new Cobalt will be good as my old 98 chevy cavalier...

  • i dont know... evry thing is good but the "cobalt" make me sick

    cant you keep with cavalier?

  • Yeah, I prefer the name "Cavalier", too. It sounds way cooler.

  • I missed your conversation but how the hell did a cavalier get mentioned in a cobalt video? I mean i own a cavy and it only hits a 110, a cobalt will hit 160.

  • I think the cobalt is hot compared to the newer cars coming out like the... Hyundai genesis coupe, the new mustang, ect. I wasnt impressed with the new genesis or the mustang.

  • @motherwolfe66

lol...cobalt hot...you must be very ignorent - maybe compared to toyota corolla or kia rio, but it lack refinement (mostly on exterior) ...new kia forte is better both interior and exterior....genesis and stang are far abovee conobox cobalt (that looks like it was designed for rednecks - cheesy design detail, executed without taste).

I hope GM will have 2 door version of chevy cruize and will offer 2.0T with attractive styling without cheep rear end design!

  • lol what made this car appeal to me even MORE was the hot chick driving a stick :P

  • I'm 6'3 and am picking up my 07 SS next friday, i fit in it pretty good.

  • doesnt the colbott have the ability to get tuned to shit! I heard that you can put a couple of grand and seriosly get a mean car. Anyone who knows a bit more about the car let me know please

  • @jamesthq gm stage 2 package for the supercharged cobalts allow 240-250 hp and tq is pretty good, but hahn for 5000 gets like 300 + hp. Intense package can add up to 300 keeping the same super charger.

  • @tornadostorm18 haha you make it sound like a videogame I have a Toyota Celica and Im thinking of turbo charging and doing some stuff to the engine to get it up to 350bhp or just saying fuck it and buy a 2nd hand colbalt

  • @jamesthq Well I don't know shit about cars, but my brother said gm stage 2 he could do in his sleep, although still need to get the computer reflashed at dealership. Hahn turbo sounds like a head ache, some of the Intense kits are pretty much like gm stage kits to start and get more advanced. Either way if your pushing close to 300 hp in a cobalt you have to put in new axles so they don't break. If you drag a lot a stock cobalt the axle seals break.

  • so does the limited slip dif affect handling? I don't know what a dif does exactly :(

  • LSD affects traction, and such. The differential is what transfers power from the transaxle to the wheel. Depending on the gear ratio of the LSD, it can also improve performance, which is the likely goal here. Chevy used to have a nice LSD system in RWD cars, you may know it as positraction, or simply a posi rear end

  • on the transmission, it says P, R, N, D, I, and L. what is the I for?

  • intermediate

  • and what does that do, sorry for all these questions but my brother is getting one in like 2 days and the damn guy doesnt have the owners manual, and the online one for 2005 doesnt say

  • Id assume L is low gear (1st) and the I would be like the 2nd gear ratio

  • ah fuck small cars, I hope we keep burning dead dinosaurs forever in big engines

  • HYYYYYYYYDROGEEEEEEEEEEEEN

  • @StevoElsupremo LMFAO thats funny ahahaha

  • The backseat is definitely has small legroom. Not comfortable for long drives if you're in the back.

  • im 6'2 and i fit into the back

  • Can taller people fit into this car? I've been looking at buying one of these and im around 6'2-6'3.

  • Comment removed

  • i have an 08 cobalt and shits already starting to wear out on it

  • I think it looks cheap but for some reson I think it's cool mabey because it's American but i hate saying it but the Japs build cars that last longer.

  • this may be the worst car in terms of equipment and options BUT it has the better engine

  • omg i just saw the new one.... looks about 3 years older than this one lol. American car designers are useless i swear to god....

  • The domestic car companies aren't quite there yet but I have a feeling they're on the right track with the Cobalt.

  • Dont forget the Chev Malibu and new Ford Taurus

Better mpg than Honda and Toyota

  • You mean Fusion not Taurus.

    To nitpick.

  • No, I meant the new 2010 Taurus...but you can also add Fusion to that list if you want.

  • yeah recently they fuckin got into gear

  • worst car in it's class

  • sure these cars may run alright but why do all american cars in this class look like ****, what the hell are you designers thinking

  • the saturn ion redline and saturn astra look pretty good but the redline is more competetive with the cobalt

  • are you serious.. japanese cars are the ugliest cars, other than the new carmy, civic, and accord, everything else makes me fuckin pissed

  • i should have the american car bias living in detroit and all, but i still think small american cars look like all hell, which is why few outside of Michigan buy them

maybe its just personal preference. i feel small japanese cars offer a more attractive finished model inside and out. however i am excited for new fiesta/focus

  • Im sure your shit talking is amusing...

  • What on his knees?

  • Ur a Noob. A Cobalt is a Saab...

  • this is the car i want when i get my G2.

    well im only 16 now.

  • Dont let the SS badge go to your head and know your limits. I had a stupid punk in one of these SS cars try to whip by my G8 he didnt stand a chance.

  • yeah, but your G8 has twice as many cylinders and twice the hp

  • The chick at 2:30 is hot

  • YES SHE IS!!!!

  • I'm thinking of getting a used chevy cobalt for my first car.

  • me too

08 or 09 cobalt ss( they added 50 horsepower to the 08 and 09 models with a turbo)

  • I want to get the SS model because I like the back tail lights design, and I've heard this car's performance is very smooth.

I'd like to get a Lamborghini, but I think I'll settle for this. lol

  • are you talking about the the circular tail lights?

because they make circular and triangular on all cobalts, not just the ss

it depends if its a coupe or sedan

sedans have triangular and coupes have circular

and yes, the ss model comes in both sedan and coupe

and yeah, ive heard it has great performance, i like the brembo brakes, those might be expensive to replace though=X

and theyre supposed to be awesome in the corners

  • I mean the circular tail lights.

Thanks for the information, so now I'll be looking for an SS coupe.

  • @MechWarrior324

no problem, im looking for one too...

  • @Chapstick050 actually the 07 down ss/sc version didnt come in a 4 door...it wasnt untill 08 up that the turbo version came in a 4 door sedan... and the brakes arent that much.. depends on how u mean replace them? and OMG do they handle good in turns! i love mine..

  • oh, ok, didnt realize that. i thought the brembo brake pads might be expensive

  • The SS version is the quickest car for the money in '09, kinda like the 'Vette. Different class, yes, but hey , ya' gotta love the American cars these days.

  • i just bought an 08 Cobalt LS today with only 5500 miles, i like it so far even in N/A form. it has slightly less power then my BMW 325i, but probably still faster cuz my BMW is automatic and cobalt is a 5 speed

  • The civic is made out of rice, that's why it's quick without SC or TC, dont you know anything about japanese car making materials?

  • Americans are so lucky and still complain... How I wish our GM sell this car here in Brazil... For us this car is AMAZING but here would be so expensive that only the rich could buy it. But then lose the market for imported... I wanted to live in the U.S... :(

  • to hell with the cobalt give me that hot mama.... such a nice rear

  • This is a 2007 cobalt SS.

  • not really, the 09 cobalt is the fastest car on its class, i know that the styling on the civic is better

but in performance the cobalt wins.

  • If the Civic had direct injection and a turbo it'd be better than the Cobalt, the engine is better bitch

  • you said it, IF so Cobalt is better :)

  • It'd be easy to add a supercharger to the Civic bitch

  • Yeah, but Honda isn't smart enough to equip it with one from the factory.
