the one on the left is paul simon bacause the one on the left, i noticed cant play some parts, so paul just keeps going while his brother plays and backs-up too.
@MASAI97 but most people dont know that........ so i was pointing out differences to show tell between the two, btw paul simon uses the thumb and finger picks, while Ed doesnt.
After some more research I see Eddie is also credited for Vocals for a 2009 release by a band called "The Knife Confession", album is Plane Filled Skies. Very far from what I expected to hear, somewhat psychedelic metal space music; the other 2 members supposedly play violin and viola but very subdied if so. IF this is in fact the SAME Eddie Simon.
Has Ed made any other recordings or appearances with or without Paul in the last 40 years? Surprising if not, he's d@mn good, but then Paul is very underrated as a guitar player too. Great clip, is there more of this anywhere?
@MusicbyBenjamin Thanks for the heads-up. I've watched the DVD a few times and never noticed him appear, probably because he's just in the credits? It's time for another watch, great disc. What a Pity, it appears from the brief bio on AllMusic.com that we could have missed out on a good thing for far too long.

Paul was obviously the one who stayed onstage at the end when Garfunkel returned. :-) Seriously, it's *very* hard to tell the difference between the two of them..
Has anybody noticed the "Day Tripper " lick at 1:55 ??? He hiccuped a bit and it seems like it just came out .. true musicianship. But what did this come from ?
@scott87031 He added that Day Tripper touch in several live performances. I have one on CD from Paris 1970 where the crowd actually laughs at that point and he says "oh that's the Beatles" as he continues to play the song.
i would like paul simon to show me how to play the guitar i cant play a note but i wish i could play just like him. the songs and tunes he plays are just heavenly
It's quite fleshed out compared to the original; I think it justifies the use of two guitars. Besides, the actual original recorded version by Davy Graham was quite simple. Artists, such as Bert Jansch, who were amongst the earliest to cover the track, added aspects to it which have stuck; for instance the hammer-ons during the main section.
who is this guy, ed? I would like to know someone online who has his biography? This is the only footage I have of him, is he still alive? Why doesn't he play with his brother more? Does he do any solo stuff? does paul mention him in any interviews?? Lots of ???? that'd I'd like to know if possible
DAVEY GRAHAM the great Scottish guitarist and the man responsible for introducing DADGAD tuning to the West -
wrote this instrumental when he was 19.
Everyone from Martin Carthy, John Renborn, Herbert Jansch, Jimmy Page etc including Paul Simon - have been 'Influenced' by Daveys Eclectic Acoustic style of playing. Paul included this tune on 'The Sounds of Silence' and even asked Davey to 'Join' him and Art in the group as a Trio. Davey turned it down
i had no idea this song was with paul simons brother... even less that they looked so much alike!! love them both here... it shows they're having a blast
eddie had a band in the late 60's called guilded cage of light or something like that. he later went to open up the guitar study center in nyc; after that, dunno.
