Excellent LAG play . . . I like how you constantly changed gears and you obviously have enough balls to offset the random small blind onslaught by which all players may be tortured. I was making 8BB/100 at NL5 Rush and never took a stab at the higher stakes . . . I was gonna right b4 Black Friday after I realized I could deposit as much as I want without my bank account being debited. ^_^
I thought his range for c-betting was too loose but this is Rush . . . you gotta c-bet with anything if you sense weakness, but I wouldn't bet as much as he was to hedge how weak his hands actually were. He exploited a lot of players here but when he got outplayed he paid for it . . . still obviously a very profitable session, amirite?

Going back to regular ring games had never felt so difficult since Black Friday . . . of course, the rest of the world who could still play had to experience withdrawal eventually as well.

I notised that this is kinda like playing by the book, what I can't figure out is should I wait for those cards when I'm playing normal speed tables or not? Should I raise preflop or limp, I'm much more comfortable with limping, and what is the optimal play, by the book or some kinda personal play? not that I read any books on poker yet. But this is a good video
@Zee96969696 You should definitely do some studying. Not necessarily just books, but on the internet; articles, videos, forums. To many questions, the answer is "it depends". The goal is to make as much money as possible while losing as little as possible. So the optimal play in a given situation is what gets you to that goal, given all the information you have at the moment.
@involverrrrr in the long run everyone will get the same amount of good and bad hands to play but HOW you play them is what makes you a winner or a loser..
for example, alot of players are unable to play AA properly when facing alot of action on later streets.. most likely they are beat in the micros but they just cant fold it thus losing more than the players who are able to fold it in those spots
and this is just 1 example out of probably hundreds of thousands.
You fold AJ at 5:49 without any previous raises, was this an accident, or do you think it's a bad hand to play from middle position. I would play it, but then again I'm just a beginning player. Anyone care to explain?
@peanutguy314 That wasn't an accident. It's a bit loose raise from UTG+2 (I would have raised it from the next position though). Not a big deal overall, I just went for a tighter style in this session (and would recommend the same for beginners).
@Incubated81 Thanks :) I made the music myself. Btw, if we assign a really tight range (QQ+, AK) then your chances of running against aces is 40%. But often you see a lot worse hands in that situation.
@j00f whats that software you use to see someones cards afterwards, especially if they muck hand, i mean doesnt that defeat the purpose of mucking a hand, and isnt that illegal then? I see the pros use this software a lot.
The internet poker clients allow you to see the muck . . . that's a critical difference between LIVE and ONLINE play . . . so much more hand-info available especially if you have HEM or PT. I have never used a HUD but always look at the muck . . . you aren't able to see your opponents' mucks?!?!? O.o lol
@brockwilson1 no, i dont, i often run into aces, when i have kings and my opponent shoves all in preflop and i give it a call....the 4:50 guy played it like a-a.... would YOU fold?
im not unlucky, i could even build my first grand with rush(yeah,in the micros, buddy), now do your freeroll-donkaments and watch phil ivey shove it on tv
@Incubated81 me too ! but many times happend to me to go all in i had ~7 $ the opponent had ~15$ and called me. i had AA he had KK and on the flop a K showed up:) a lot of bad beats i had on rush poker ! one time happend to me AA (me) vs KK and on the flop a K showed up, finally an A on river .. i was so freakin happy
i dont really like your game. i think you dont earn much over a long periode with this style. the main reason why you get money in this video was the point that the people pay you off with worse hands. but they wont do that forever...
@MrPokerForYou Thanks for the tips. I made this video when rush poker had just launched, so I played pretty much the way I played normal cash games at the time.
@rickrietvink2 Postflop play is complex to learn but simple to apply.
Search a youtube user named citizenwind and watch his six part video on 25nl rush.
Citizenwind is one of the biggest 25nl rush poker winners and a long time instructor for cardrunners. One of the best online players in the world for sure.
Search up posts by Pokey on equity and his well stuff on 2+2 forums.
Read verneers threads too. Study Ronfar3's material. Nutedawg's videos are brilliant.
@happysauce123 It's a difficult hand to play postflop out of position (especially against unknowns) and no one in the hand had much of a stack compared to the raise size, so purely set mining (which relies on implied odds) wasn't worth it.
@hubertandclyde listen here moron i was playing just 20 minutes ago and just 2 examples are i had pocket aces a player shoved pf so i call he shows 8's flop safe turn safe what is the river? the two outer and another example in that 20 minutes i hit a set of 7's on the flop i bet then there is a raiser so i shove he calls and shows Q's turn safe what is the river? hahahahaha another 2 outer so thats two 2 outer hits against me in 20 mins that has never happend to me once live explain it moron?
@killerstrict It has never happened to live for many reasons. One is that you have probably played way more internet hand than live hands. Another is that internet players tend to draw a whole lot more, due to the fact that they are generally worse than live players. You wouldn't have somebody going all in with you with 8's live, so that wouldn't have happened. The worse the players are, the greater and more often the suckouts. What stakes do you play?
I personally wouldn't enjoy the game in which i would not call big blind with AJs or QJs.. I don't know, may be I am wrong, but that's the way I play.
the game here is just making money, as you headed it, not a real Poker.
this i why u shud'nt play rush unless ur a well seasoned player, just take u look at this guy he is stone tight and making all the perfect moves,ha best of luck playing against players like this guy, great video m8
he played it pretty solidly but he made a mistake in one of the hands. tried to take it down three handed on flop with an ace when he didnt have an ace. not a smart move in rush poker when people are generally only playing premium hands
you were just lucky.got bad calls from weak players. and flopped the nuts in a multi pot. I rly didnt understand what was your intention when you bet $1.1 or so in a $1.73 pot you holding AK on a TQQT8 board. You do have a showdown value after a checked turn, and by betting you only fold bluffs. The right thing would have been to check/call a bet here. It's more +EV. This shows out that not only you don't know how to exploit players but also that you make money only in short term.
So basically you flopped a flush and got a few calls by dumbasses.. Everybody can have a good session on here.. I'm not saying you're playing bad.. I just think that Rush poker takes quite a bit of the marginal skill out of the game. Too bad its so god damn fun lol.
Rush poker looks fukking SICK! the yunger generation in poker are going to grow up to this like me.Tis wil change poker, soon peop will be muti tabling like 5 tales there probaly doing it ow actually. WAIT so there mking money and am on UB playin4 table ain less fuk that fullt tilt am coming baby
i think u needed some more preflop aggression personally. if u aint gonna see the guy again. just raise him. gain controll and if he folds sweet. we have blinds
Definitely did run good. On the turn, it was a very weird line by him, so I decided to go for pot control. In retrospect it probably should have been either fold or shove. That's the tough thing about rush; having some history with this player, it would have been a much easier decision.
I see. And I guess one of the hands you were worried about on the turn is a 2, but the 2 on the river makes it even less likely, and makes it easier to get action from a Jx hand?
Basically yes. His turn raise seemed like JJ/77/2x. But since there's a change he might do it with AJ/KJ and he had only few bucks over pot left, I decided to continue.

Fold A J / 5:49

It's a bit marginal from UTG+2. Not a big deal though, I just went for a tighter style in this session.

i think u needed some more preflop aggression personally. if u aint gonna see the guy again. just raise him. gain controll and if he folds sweet. we have blinds

I think you ran pretty hot in this one.
I don't know about the bet/call and shove the river play with queens at 7:14. What's the purpose of that? Why not just raise the turn?
RussellsParadox 2 years ago
Definitely did run good. On the turn, it was a very weird line by him, so I decided to go for pot control. In retrospect it probably should have been either fold or shove. That's the tough thing about rush; having some history with this player, it would have been a much easier decision.

I see. And I guess one of the hands you were worried about on the turn is a 2, but the 2 on the river makes it even less likely, and makes it easier to get action from a Jx hand?
RussellsParadox 2 years ago
Basically yes. His turn raise seemed like JJ/77/2x. But since there's a change he might do it with AJ/KJ and he had only few bucks over pot left, I decided to continue.

@j00f his turn raise looked like 77, haha please.

Actually that was pretty nice play. Doesn't see that usually from guy who plays nl 10. WP.
I agree wit running hot. There wasn't single cooler or tough decision. Everytime had some kind of piece from flop.
