i own 03 maxima with 3.5 and i know it's fucking fast as hell but when i see this video before the race, i go "of course, mustang gt is gonna win this race" then i realized mustang has very shitty driver so in this race, maxima had a big advantage and it doesn't matter how shitty or good driver is, win is a win so maxima beats mustang gt does count.. mustang drivers, i'm sorry and you guys be mad at this shitty driver for letting a maxima smoked mustang

Whoever thinks this is a race is just retarded, It is pretty clear there's no race, the mustang gave up and quit after missing second gear. If anyone think a stock maxima makes 60 MPH under 5 seconds is been F...D up. Unless they had swap for a supra turbo engine.

Ha. This is a funny video. Obviously the mustang driver really did not care about the outcome. As soon as he hit second , immediately shifted into 3rd. Now, these are my two favorite cars. I own both currently. I'm not talking down the Maxima by any means at all. But lets face it, If the mustang driver cared about the race, It would have been a different out come.

@TH4TGUy617 The mustang went to third. He just spun and banged through the first two gears too quickly without gaining enough momentum. So, once he shifted to third he regained traction and his engine fell out of the powerband. If he had shifted to fifth you wouldve had definitely heard him downshift.

I have a 02 Max w/ 6spd..I love it but it has its shortcomings..FWD endless wheel hop in 1st gear makes it hard to use all the power off the line..the Mustang GT here should have beaten the Max; tests show Must GT V8 with mid-high 13 sec qtr mile; for Max 6 spd mid 14 sec qtr..I've driven Must V8 and it's faster (not by a lot) than my Max..that said a 4dr with equal power can perform just as well as a coupe..it's weight and engine/susp engineering that count, not how many doors it has..
One, I love maxima's, definitely one of the most un-expectedly fast cars you can find, and two, that mustang driver can't drive for shit. Unless it was auto, in that case he blew his trans out. haha

@wsteagall it didnt spank anything it ran a mid 14. a v6 mustang with minor mod could run that. the GT in this vid would run mid to low 13's if the driver wasn't a retard. those 5.5 gen maximas can run with a 99-04 2v GT but not the newer ones. not hating on either car, just saying. it wont beat every mustang forever

As a fellow 2003 Maxima owner, I have to say I was rooting for the stang to win, but he just royally disappointed me. My damn grandmother has better reflexes than that guy. I know the Maxima is fast by owning one, but those GTs are hella fast too.
The Mustang driver sucked. I could've got out of that wheelspin easily. It's called when the tires spin, ease up on the gas pedal. Not complicated but most people don't perform for shit under any kind of pressure and they can't think. Luckily I don't have that problem.
@bruni197 thats right. The Maxima is the first car to have the VQ engine (along with the Infiniti i30). The Maxima opened up a whole new world with this engine. Now most nissan sport cars and Infinitis use this engine, the improved 3.5 and 3.7.
this maxima is long gone.. it was totaled about 8-9 months ago.. and yes it was slow but still beat that mustang :o
