I bet they realize she is lame, but demonstrating that she is trained to ride may save her life. This is this mare's last chance, and sometimes you have to choose the lesser of two evils - in this case, ride the mare even though it shows her front feet hurt, or don't ride her and risk ber not finding a home because people will assume she is unridable. This mare has a new home BTW! Yay!

It is too bad she seems sore, but 30 seconds that could save her life is worth it, I would say!

I would also say that I bet they do realize she is sore, and that is why they are not trying to do anything more with her than this limited ride. Poor girl, she is a pretty Morgan from good show lines.

Yes, lame, but I think the end justifies the means in this particular case. They are trying to show she is broke to ride so she can be saved from the kill pens.

@csoltice horses like that with awesome bloodlines would make a good broodmare or something, there just showing she can ride, maybe a trail horse or something.

@csoltice Thank you for explaining everyone! Some don't realize what we do nor do they look before speaking. This mare did find a home. It was clearly stated that she has short feet. I didn't see her personally but she could have went to slaughter when she went through the auction Monday - glad she is safe and heading home. Her feet will grow and her life continue.
