  • They used an identical drive train on the successful Dodge Voyager minivan.

You could swap any size of the engine/ tranny combinations on any of the Chrysler cars/mini vans. and they would fit without major modifications.

  • K=KRAP

  • Couldn't kill those 2.2 liter engines,

  • So horribly 80s its like the rock style song is a truck hitting him..

Thats why..... Nova Chrysler is the way!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not anymore according to google they don't exist or maybe changed names?

  • @robkb1fjr

I would guess they became Steele Chrysler because that's what is located on the corner of Kempt and Livingstone.

  • If you think the K Car was a shitty car, then your wrong. Believe it or not it was actually a great car of it's time. It even saved Chrysler from bankruptcy.

  • @Heegoop I still think the K Car was shitty. They may have saved Chrysler from bankruptcy, but it was designed by accountants rather than engineers. The legacy of such cost cutting measures almost killed the brand before the merger with Fiat.

    Long live Honda Accords.

  • @vincentwbriggs Will the K Car was nonetheless reliable. They were good on gas and they ran just fine. Never mind how they looked. Looks don't matter.

  • @Heegoop i never said anything about the looks. But there is a reason why Reliant K's are found at the end of the lane to be picked up on garbage day. And that reason extends to why it has become the butt of jokes on television. They may have saved Chrysler in the short run, but they established a culture of cost cutting and poor quality that nearly killed them. Just look at the Neon and Caliber. Acceptableness was king. Whoops. Misjudged that market...

  • @vincentwbriggs As far as I am concerned the jury is still out. We'll see how well the Fiat 500 does in the American market, both is sales and reliability. For their sake, we'd better not see ol' Fix It Again Tony ever again. i was burned with two fiats back in the 70's, so I know of where I speak.

  • Porn star mustache and a mullet.. YEP! That's the 80's alright! rofl

  • @ActiveWorldsLunitic

Actually, 80's in the same way people not in tune with what's in vogue today may look like it's 1999.

  • fuck that I'd buy a volkswagen

  • A Chrysler dealer with a Chevy model name. IRONY. No doubt made a few MOPAR freaks cringe!

  • Yeah I thought it was Canada when the advert mentioned kilometres.

  • If i had a million dollars, i'd buy you a K-car a nice Reliant automobile.

  • The speaker's haircut and mustache ... SO 70s.

  • Ummm, that isn't the USA. It's in Halifax N.S. Canada. I've driven past that place a zillion times back at the time this commercial was filmed. Still, thanks for uploading. Ahhh memories.

  • Mr. Rooney's car! From Ferris Bueller's Day off.

  • The Brawny Towel man sells cars now???

  • lol my first car

  • $754 off the Reliant? So they were giving those cars away for free?

  • Cool find, glad to see it. But this is from Canada, not the USA.

  • @yu237551 The dollar wasn't THAT different back then. I think it was around .80 to the US buck. It is still pretty big cash considering what they sold for back then. I think a full load K car was only about $8500 (?). $754 discount was pretty good!

  • Wow. Back then $754 was actually a lot of money off. That wouldn't do SHIT these days =P
