The Peoples Temple was never meant to go to Russia. If it were the case, they would have went there in the first place. And not to Guyana where they were isolated from both capitalist and communistic societies. He prefered an isolated environment to continue his practices.

Jim also didn't use the collective bank accounts to buy mansions, cars or yachts. He lived in a tiny shack. His big luxury? A mosquito net.

On his death, Jim really sent $7.3 million to the Communist party of the USSR.

No documents produced in response to FOIA requests state anything like that the CIA funded Jonestown. This is a lie, and a poorly constructed one at that.

Also, the CIA couldn't have "intercepted" the $7.3m in letters to the Swiss Banks. The letters were not open (or like bearer bonds), but rather specified transfer to one recipient: USSR embassy employee Feodor Timofeyev, and he was to give it to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
