  • If he had the burning kit for arctic the arctic had won :3

  • what batteries does the yobersal laser uses ??

  • @lovelbilus 2 CR123A batteries

  • yep, wicked lasers is normally only 700-800mW, as to where most 1W DIY's like yobresal's are 1-1.2W

  • beam dia eq? output eq?

  • Yob. pwns all in that power range. There are 2 watt 445s showing up now that people are building/selling for not too much more than Yob's 1 watt ...

  • @sYnerGyZniGmA the 2 watters are the same 1W diode being driven at 2W (about 1.8A) with a 405 g-1 lens. So, the lifetime is unknown at these high powers.

  • @juniortore1 Ahhhh ok ... yeah I think I read someone else mention the over-driving reduces life-span considerably ... that's good to know... thanks .

  • @sYnerGyZniGmA Yep, what some people do, which I like the idea of more is to get 2x 1W diodes and combine the beam with mirrors and lenses or however some people do it.

  • @juniortore1

I have a 2 watt 445 now in a Saik host powered by a 26650, I'll try to get a video up this weekend.

  • @BoostedGT3567R What 2 watt? 2x 1W or an over driven 1W?

I like the idea of 2 watts :D

  • @juniortore1

i dunno what you mean by over driven. It uses 2 flexdrives @ 900ma. It was measured at roughly 1950mw on an LPM.

  • @BoostedGT3567R ya, a single 1W diode being driven at 1800ma rather its normal 1000 *800 in projector*

So, wouldn't the life of the diode be very short?

  • @juniortore1

Lots of people are running them well over 1 Watt, very few deaths so far. The last one I built

And sold was roughly 1.4w and its still going strong. Goto laserpointerforums and do some reading

    in the 445 section.

  • @BoostedGT3567R yep, I know for 1 watt, people use normally 1.2 amp.

I am a member of the forums, and know people are making these lasers at 2 watt, but nobody really mentions if it shortens life

  • @juniortore1

Well then that's good news. ;) mine is still alive and well, probably 45-60 minutes on it at least.

  • @BoostedGT3567R hmm, seems safe then.

  • @juniortore1 sellers are saying not to run them over 1 minute at 1 time , then having a 1 minute cool down

  • @DeeKaayHD Yes. I Since I took mine apart (broke 2 small wires by doing so which was hard to solder fix) I put thermal paste between the heatsink and the host so now depending on what the room temp is, you can get a LOT better duty cycle, and you can tell exactly how warm the heatsink is by touching the upper host.

  • Waiting like crazy mine light saber!

  • I think there are holes in your door. :D

  • yobresal PWN DA ARCTIC LOL
