Italian "Spagetti westerns" are the best westerns ever made. They are even better than the American movies. They have the feeling of being transported back in time and have an authentic feel to them. Ennio Morricone's music help set the mood perfectly as well as being magnificent pieces of music in themselves. @CaptainCook1778 have to admit that you're right. most American westerns aren't real enough and lack that suspense that's created in his movies. its just gun smoke and one liners. ennio is the thing that ties the ribbon on these movies though. but that scene in the remake of 3:10 to Yuma where Ben wade (Russel Crowe) kills all his men, is awesome.
