I got to swim on the King's beach, swim in the Al Adahri pool, and bust my ass at the Bapco Refinery circa 1979. I hear Bahrain has grown. I stayed in Awali. I went diving on that transport wreck with the British Sub Aqua Club. That water was an awesome clear blue green. The shopping area was called the Sook and they had gold chains and jewelry in the windows. I bought ancient Arabic brass coffee pots and prayer rugs from there.Spent Dinars like dollars...Thanks for the memories...
