@Bladkuf well - if you read the description you'd know that this is a really old video. Second, I did later take classes in sword fighting and proper armed close-combat techniques. Third, if you check out my other vids you'd see that my current prefered weapon is my custom polearm double-axe - and after years of fighting with it, then I'd argue that I am quite proficient in that. :)

And on the theory on getting better, yes you have, but from what I´ve seen you are still using a lot of unnecessary moves, you don´t keep you´r stance, and you stab too far, try to keep it close and controled, then you dont have to find yourself with that nice looking haldbard on the outer side of my shield with my sword in your gut.
And on the sword-part, you are too defensive, be offensive and get inside his reach the moment he strikes.

Use some force, but do it in a controled manner, and do it like it´s real, then I accept it.

plus, this video was purely for show - trust me, I know proper tactical 'poke-fu' when it comes to latex weapons.

Hummm well my tastes are more about more realistic LIKE swords. I'm still into PVC and foam, but I can shape them pretty good... unless I put the soft part for stabbing. I guess it's a mater of taste if you prefer more fantasy-ish weapons or more realistic looking like weapons
I'm going into making latex swords soon. I know how to do, the only thing I need is time, material and practice XD
i am fairly certain that danish LARP weapons are more durable than your nerf bats - they're sturdier, tougher - but thats part of the reason why they dont fly in US LARPs, since they can actually bruise people... if used properly you can even dent steel armor with these things

and what would be heavier than boffer latex? the thickness of the latex can greatly influence the weight.... i got boffer latex weapons can that are heavy enough to dent steel armor
When I say Latex, I mean the expensive ones, the ones that I use are homemade of pvc(sometimes fiberglass), camp pad foam, and Contact cement. They can weigh up to two pounds for a medium length sword.
Its too light, I could tell byyour swinging. It looked like you were swinging around a cardboard tube.
The blades are elegant and unique. I would consider purchasing them as well(If I had the money).

no you wouldn't. I'd hit you once and you'd be down AND crying - see this isn't whiny US LARP gear, this is danish VIKING larp gear. People get their teeth knocked out with these, people get concussions, people break limbs. Also, in the campaign i mostly frequent there are no 'freeze' spells... sorry, you loose.

I really like the sword, f´king epic!
Though a sword that looks awesome should be wielded with style.
Please, learn to use it, study japanese and european swordsmanship a while, it is´nt that hard.
Because all I see here is a bunch of thoughtless swinging.
You could have just filmed it instead, giving us a great look at the beutifull weapon.
If I were to encounter you swinging the sword like that in a larp I would facepalm and kick your ass, hard... then I would slit your throat...

@willLEEum its actually a bit unwieldy - but it comes down to personal skill at this level. The reach is excellent, which is important, and the 'hooks' in it allow for easy 'far out' parries (so enemy weapons do not get close to you)
beyond that it is simply a question of you personally being strong and skilled enough to whip it around. It is almost perfectly balanced, which makes this part a lot easier.

two handed european latex boffers are too light for my tastes. The one handed ones are good quality tho.
